The thought of death usually comforts me. I never buckled my seatbelt, or looked both ways before I crossed the street. I don't panic when we hit turbulence on planes. If someone held a gun up to my head, or a knife up to my throat, I would usually say "do it." But not anymore. Not with him. He actually changed my mind. I'm starting to be more careful..
My mind was racing with all of these thoughts buried in my head as I desperately searched for a present for him. His birthday is tomorrow and I haven't gotten him a gift. What the hell does he like?
"Skateboarding and pineapple pizza." I muttered to myself as I sped to the store. I wanted it to be special though.

"You did not!" Ethan gasped as he held up the customized skateboard. On the bottom of it, the word "create" was written, in the same font as his tattoo. He's obsessed with creating and inventing so I figured he would like it.
"Oh, it was nothing." I smiled up at him. He pulled me into a tight hug as I looked around awkwardly behind his back. Not a hugger.. I'm definitely NOT a hugger. I hesitated but then hugged him back just as tight, only because it's his birthday.
"That's not all.." I giggled as I led him into the kitchen. His eyes widened and glowed a beautiful hazel color as he laughed a loud laugh that spread throughout the entire house. He pulled me into his big arms as he examined the pineapple pizza with 26 candles in it.
"Why are you so amazing." He said finally as he looked at my eyes. I felt as if he could see through me, as if he knew all of my secrets. "I could marry you right now, I swear." He joked.
I cringed.
"What's that face?" He asked.
"Marriage is gross. So are kids." I replied negatively. He started laughing again.
"You are impossible to figure out."
Trust me, I know.
He pulled out all of the candles quickly and took a large bite into the pizza. I slowly picked up a slice and he gazed at me, looking fascinated.
"Don't be so surprised. I'm trying it, only because it's your birthday." I rolled my eyes and took a tiny bite. It tasted terrible. I gagged and made a face.
"How could you eat that?" I yelled as he cracked up.
"It's so good what the hell!" He managed to say between breaths. I picked up my slice and slapped him in the face with it. He glared at me as I started cracking up.
"Who's laughing now dumbass?" I clutched my stomach and squeezed my eyes shut as I laughed.
"Not you!" He screamed grabbing two slices of pizza and putting them on both of my cheeks.
"Truce, truce, TRUCE." I squeaked and he put it down.
"You know, I don't know your favorite color." He said out of the blue as we regained our breath. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Okay, random. But it's grey. Maybe a blueish grey. What's yours?"
"Wow that's a depressing color." He laughed at me. "Try and guess my favorite color." He answered.
"Oh, thats easy." I got all confident as he gave me a challenging face.Ethan's POV
"Blue!" She squealed as she clasped her hands together, hoping I'd say yes. To be honest, I didn't have a favorite color. Not until I saw her smiling like a little kid and looking up at me as if I was her everything. Hearing her light voice saying that word, I'll think about it every time I see the color blue now.
"How'd you know?" I smiled at her as she clapped happily.
"I knew it!! Yes!!" She celebrated. Why is she so cute?Lol jk this chapter isn't that intense but got you to read it! In a few chapters though something actually intense will happen.
