I dragged myself through the hospital doors in my fresh blue scrubs. I'm officially a second year resident, which is great! Except for one thing. I have to see him.
I walked over to the bulletin board to see who I was assigned to, even though I already knew it was Dr. Shepard. I always work with him because I want to be a brain surgeon and he's my teacher. Well, he's more like a big brother to me.
I read the familiar words and then turned around to bump into a strong figure.
"My bad." I let out a giggle until I realized who it was.Ethan's POV
"My bad!" She let out a small, fake laugh. She looked up at me, and as she recognized my face her smile fell and her eyes dulled.
"Scarlet.." I whispered, more so to myself. This was the first time I've seen her in months. Something about her was different. She looked the way she did when I first met her. Lost, bored, and worried. Her dark brown hair was in a messy low pony tail and she had little makeup on. Yet she looked beautiful.
She lifted her hand, signaling me to stop. "Don't." She managed to choke out.
"Just wai-" she cleared her throat.
"Don't. Don't look at me like I broke you. Don't even look at me. Don't let my name escape your lips. You don't get to play victim. I'm the broken one. You broke me. So don't you dare look at me like that and say my name like that." She remained calm and quiet the entire time as she strutted away. Her words replayed in my head over and over again.
You broke me.Sorry it's a short chapter Ik I'm terrible. Maybe I'll double update☺️
