Chad's POV

We watched Dawn took a few deep breaths, the night breeze calming us all down. She looked up at us after a couple minutes, her stare landing on Brad and I.

"Care to explain, now?" She asked.

Brad hung his head while I fidgeted a little.

"I'm sorry... I just wanted to-" Brad began, but I interrupted, since it was me who told him to keep it a secret.

"It was my fault. Brad came and told me. Before he became your Royal Guardian, Brad was already a favorite of Guardian Alkaev." I explained.

Brad took over, gaining courage and told them what he told me, including how he felt and what he think Guardian Alkeav was trying to do to him.

I continued, telling them the story from my point of view and planning on our side. We both apologise for keeping the secret when we finished speaking, but nobody spoke. Guardian Hathaway was staring at us, her eyes guarded.

I felt grateful when Ryan and Colt piped in some good words for us.

"Don't be mad at them. Honestly, I thought they worked it out pretty nicely." Colt said.

"Yeah, if not for them, we would've been caught by surprise. Instead, they had us prepared, that's how we managed to avoid the bomb." Ryan added.

Dawn turned to them.

"You guys knew about it as well?" She asked, surprised.

"No. But when we split up to get to the different entrances, they stopped and explained everything. Guardian Castile took charge and we went to find the bomb and take down the Guardians in hiding, waiting for action." Colt explained.

Guardian Hathaway blew out a breath and shook her head.

"All these should have been reported." She chastised. "But I couldn't deny that it all came out for the better."

Brad and I breath a sigh of relief.

"Although, I can predict that Dimitri will not think the same." Guardian Hathaway continued.

We froze.

"Most probably, the two of you will be in trouble for not reporting information, with or without proof." She added.

Dawn smiled.

"Can I guess? It happened to you before?" She asked.

Guardian Hathaway grinned and nodded.

It was another hour before Guardian Belikov came out from the building, his eyes on Brad and I.

Shit. I thought.

It looked even worse when there are about thirty to forty Guardians trailing behind him. In that moment, he look exactly like how the books in schools have described him; powerful, influential and invincible. Seeing him so gentle to Dawn and so loving to Guardian Hathaway, I sometimes forgot he is the legend.

The Guardians behind him knelt, right fist across their chests, and bowed their heads when they reached us, chorusing Rassvet Karalyeva". The rest of the RGs are moving towards us as well. As Dawn gestures for them to get up, five Guardians came running towards us.

"Guardian Belikov. We're afraid Guardian Alkaev managed to escape. There are traps everywhere along the route he escape through." One of them reported. Guardian Hathaway cursed.

Guardian Belikov, seemingly unaffected by the new, simply nodded, then turned his attention to Brad and I.

"We will be bringing both of you in for the investigation." He said, then turned away to give further instructions.
