(Rose's POV)

Two bodies immediately stiffened the moment Stan ended the sentence. Dimitri and mine. Honestly, Dimitri did prepared me for this situation the night before Dawn's crowning. Who knew that this would happen so quickly?

"How do you know that?" Dimitri asked, his voice wary. It is a tell-tale sign that Dimitri is hoping against hope that it is just a guess that they had, and there are no concrete evidence to prove this theory. He is in denial, in denial that our daughter's life is starting to be in danger.

Yeva's words came into my mind, the words rushing past my brain. 'Your child will be special, because she will be the protector of your race. Born to lead and fight, but let her stay away until it's time, if not, you will lose her. Change will occur when she's legal.'

Are we losing her? But... she hadn't been leading nor fighting much... or, did the time where we had went in search for the Jewel...? Did I... did I signed the contract to my daughter's death, or worse, soul, by allowing her to search for that Jewel?

Eddie cleared his throat. "We may be wrong. There is something that we need to show you guys though. It doesn't makes sense to us, but you guys may notice something. This information was highly protected, and we only managed to retrieve it after several attempts." He said, then brought out a laptop, plugging in a thumb drive. After a few clicks and typing, he turned the laptop around so that it faced us.

On the screen was a list of names, numbers and addresses. They were easily identified as personal contacts and details of people. Though, under the label of "status"- it starts to lose its clarification. There, they were filled with either 'M', 'S' or 'D'.

Hans stood and walked over to where Dimitri and I were sitting, peering over our shoulders. His eyes scanned through the names, numbers and addresses.

"No." Hans said, finally. "They make no sense to me."

It makes no sense to me as well. But, judging by the tension building up in the god sitting by my side, I know that this riddle will be revealed soon.

"Dimitri, what is it?" I asked, bringing my hand up to his, hoping to ease some of these tension. Fear raced past me when I realized he was too tense. His eyes were glued to the screen, his eyes sweeping past the words and numbers repeatedly. It was almost impossible to get even more tense than he was, but, as Dimitri, he could. He was so tense, maybe even a feather could snap him into half.

Gently, I took his arm, tugging at it. I repeated my action until I received his attention. I don't care that everyone in the room was staring, I don't care about what they could be thinking. What I cared about was Dimitri, who needs me now.

I finally managed to drag him out of the room. Thankfully, no one stopped us. Maybe they were shocked at Dimitri's reaction to the information. Come to think of it, none of them have actually seen a vulnerable Dimitri.

"Dimitri... what was it?" I asked, placing both my hands on his cheeks and staring straight into his eyes.

He didn't answer, but stared back into my eyes. Then I got it.

"What do you know?" I asked, rephrasing my question. This is something to do with him while he was Strigoi. I just knew it.

"That... that was... a database." Dimitri replied.

"I know. And I also know that you know who those people are, don't you?" I said, as gently as I could.

Dimitri was silent. His haunted eyes staring straight at me. I tried not to flinch, but to give him reassurance. Deep down, I was trembling, terrified. Terrified for him, for Dawn, for us. My hands found his and I squeezed it, hoping it would give him support.
