"pleasure doing business with you miss anderson"

victoria shook hands with a tall lady dressed in a black pencil skirt, her bright lipstick bleeding into the wrinkles around her mouth. she handed vic a folder with various documents in and three set of keys for house.

the lady explained a few things about the community and how cars could be registered at the gate to be allowed through.

victoria looked up at the house when the lady had left. she took a picture from the driveway with the keys held up and sent it to luke to confirm it was all his.

she unlocked the front door and headed inside. despite being furnished there was no personality or homely feel to it yet.

victoria went upstairs lugging the bag luke had given her into the master bedroom. she had bought some anti slip hangers and began hanging up some of luke's shirts in the walk in closet. she mentally organised the space and decided where his bottoms could go, folding and stacking a few pairs of jeans and sweatpants.

at the bottom of the bag was a grey hoodie. if she took it luke wouldn't know as long as she washed and returned it before he was home.

she didn't have anything to do at the house so once everything was in the right place she locked up and made her way back to her car to drive home.

instead of going home straight away she decided to visit melissa who was in the first store they opened not far from her home. she wanted to make plans for the weekend even though it was only a tuesday.

mel didn't need to be working today, their business was doing better than ever and they had sufficient staff across the state. the pair didn't like to not show their faces or pull their weight, that's not the type of bosses they were.

they both had the pleasure of having wealthy parents who helped them to start their business years ago. once they were up and running, it was their hard work that had helped them to expand.

victoria pulled luke's hoodie over the tank top she was wearing. it was a cold afternoon which was unusual for where she lived so vic was glad she had taken it.

when she got to shop melissa was already heading out. she shouted her over and they decided to go to a diner around the corner where their friend worked.

tai was serving a group of teenagers when they entered so they both took a seat at the bar.

even when tai was stood in front of the pair on the other side of the bar she still hadn't noticed her best friends.

"any chance of a drink around here" vic joked raising an eyebrow.

"oh hey! sorry i hadn't even noticed you were here"

"thought we'd come visit you and sort a night out"

tai got the pair a milkshake each, the same thing they ordered every time, and put in an order for two burgers and a large fry for sharing.

"so luke's gone?" mel asked when tai was at the register.

"can we have one conversation were you don't ask me about luke"

melissa laughed knowing that it was easy to wind vic up about luke.

"but yes he left yesterday. i've just come back from his new house" she said.

"is it big enough for a party?"

melissa imagined it straight away. they could invite so many people if the house really was as big as victoria had described. it would be like a house warming party, just without the owner.
