victoria stood in front of her wardrobe looking at all of the clothes strewn around her on the floor. her towel was slipping as she kicked around and browsed through the outfits still on hangers.

she had spent the day convincing herself that the evening was no big deal but now that she had to leave in under an hour the nerves were setting in. no matter how many times she told herself that it was just luke it didn't help to calm her down. what if she was underdressed? overdressed? it was awkward?

once she had returned home victoria worked through her full getting ready routine.

her brother had picked up seth and ella earlier on from luke's house. it was like introducing him to the parents, her big brother having a 'warning' talk with luke even though they weren't an official couple. the pair got on ridiculously well which vic loved. they were two of the most important people in her life so she was relieved that they got along.

as much as victoria was going to miss her niece and nephew she was looking forward to having free time again. also getting luke back to herself would be a bonus.

she huffed feeling defeated already and decided to bring in her best friend.

mel code 3 get here quick !!

code one - gossip. two - boy problems. three - outfit issues. four - alcohol needed.

melissa's response was instant letting vic know that she would be fifteen minutes. she chose to finish her makeup and hoped that it would look okay with whatever clothes she ended up wearing.

vic also thought it would be wise to clarify with luke what the dress code was. if it was a high end place she didn't want to turn up in jeans. she also didn't want to be wearing a fancy dress if they were going to be at a diner.

she didn't mind where they went. posh restaurants were a lovely treat but vic was definitely always up for a burger and fries. they both had money but they weren't 'expensive meal' kind of people.

what do i wear? x

his reply came through just as melissa buzzed into vic's apartment. she let her best friend in then unlocked her door.

a dress maybe? heels too if you want. just be comfortable xx

"vic whats up?" mel shouted trying to locate victoria.

"bedroom" she replied, "need help choosing a dress"

everything else was done now and she had to be ready in half an hour.

melissa strode in with a coffee in hand. she raised an eyebrow at the state of victoria's bedroom, it was usually messy but in that moment it looked like there had been an explosion due to the sheer amount of clothes on the ground.

"so, what's it for?"

"i may have a date" vic cringed watching the way melissa's facial expression changed.

"okay then this is a code one through four"

melissa set down her coffee and left the room momentarily. when she returned she had two wine glasses from the kitchen and a bottle of white tucked under her arm.

vic tried to refuse the drink but it was thrusted into her hand so she had to take it. as long as she didn't get drunk before luke got there everything would be fine.

"i absolutely know what i'm picking" melissa said smugly already looking for whatever it was that she had in mind.

vic plugged in her flat iron to heat up. she was fully ready within ten minutes and in the dress.

melissa seemed pleased as she took full length pictures of vic standing in the hallway holding her glass of wine. victoria was wearing a deep red coloured dress that had a slit up the left all the way to the top of her thigh. it was tight against her hips and chest, a snug fit, but it made her look good.
