My body tensed up. I refused to look up, or even move for that matter.

"What's your name?" Ronnie asked already knowing the answer.

"I'm Derek, we have Algebra Two together,"

"I'm Ronnie, and this is my best friend Layla,"

"Hi," He mumbled, so quietly I almost didn't hear him.

But I answer, I still kept my eyes locked on the table.

"So, can I sit?" Derek asked shyly once again.

"Uh, yeah, s-sure," Ronnie said reluctantly.

I kicked Ronnie under the table.

He smiled.

"So, you're new around here?" Ronnie asked, again already knowing the answer.

"Y-yeah," He stuttered.

"Where are you from?" Ronnie questioned, clearly faking interest.

"Uh," He hesitated, "F-Florida,"

"Florida, huh? It's sunny there right?"

"Y-yeah. Unlike here,"

"Yeah, it rains alot here,"

"I noticed,"

"So, Derek, some hot girls in this school right?"

I finally moved as my head snapped towards Ronnie. He smirked.

He just loves messing with me.

"I don't date much," Derek confessed.

"That won't last long. Girls around here are hard to ignore," Ronnie lied. Ronnie hasn't dated since freshman year, so he would know nothing about the girls around here. Not because he wasn't offered. In fact Ronnie was once the 'hottest' guy in school. But he would always politely say no to all of the offers. Soon girls simply lost hope.

"I focus on school,"

Ronnie rolled his eyes. I could tell Ronnie hated Derek already, for reasons I didn't quite understand yet.

The bell rang and I bolted out into the hallway. As usual, Ronnie wasn't far behind. Once he caught up, I asked irritated,

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

"What?" He defended.

"You know exactly what you did," I said coldly.

"Okay, I'm sorry,"

"No you're not,"

He smiled.

That smile of his, it doesn't matter how mad I am, I will always forgive him, no matter what.
