"Everybody eventually leaves, whether I tried or not."

"Why did I agree on this again?" I groaned, as I was sitting next to Grace in the back seat of the car. They were playing songs too loud and what's worse than this is they were singing like they actually could sing. I was on the edge of having a headache and the night didn't even start yet. Not to be the boring lame type of girls that hate any kind of fun but I had to, especially tonight, because we were heading to a party that someone I once knew in the company that the girls works in was throwing. Let's just say, I wasn't a fan of the guy when I was working there and we didn't date or anything for that matter, he's like my grandpa.
"You always do this, agree to things and then whine." Scarlett said, as if she was getting tired of my shit already. I glared at her, but she totally ignored me and they all laughed at what she said like it was the funniest thing ever, obviously it wasn't.
It was a normal thing, especially between me and Scarlett, to pick on each other and fight a lot. I guess that what makes us friends, because no matter how we treat each other we always go back and gossip like we never had a fight.
"Okay, I won't whine from now on and I'll be exactly as you all want, you happy now?" I rolled my eyes and looked down at my folded hands that were resting on my lap.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Grace said, smiling. I shot her a smile back, not really caring to say a come back which did scare her a bit.
The drive was silent since then, except for the music that was playing in the car the whole ride.
The building -like I excepted- was huge and enormous as we entered looking around in awe.
"So whose party is this again?" Scarlett asks no one in particular. She wasn't really good with names, but most of the times she just really didn't care.
"Jason's." Candice simply replied over the loud music that became louder and louder with each step we take.
Great, another loud music
"Oh! Wait, but isn't he too old to hold parties like this?" Scar asked.
"I heard you!" Someone said from behind her, and as she turned around she faced Jason. He was in his mid-50's but doesn't look like it at all, still I like calling him grandpa.
"Jason! Hi!" Candice exclaimed, giving him a small hug then pulling back. He greeted us all, until his eyes fell on me and smiled.
"Long time no see, miss Jefferson."
"Yeah...How's your wife?" I asked, trying to be nice and act like I care and stuff.
"Oh we got divorced." He said but he didn't even look a bit sad, oh well.
"Sorry to hear that." He shrugged and as he looked behind us he excused himself, wishing for us to enjoy our time and left.
"Anyone up for a drink?" I turned to ask the girls. Grace raised her eyebrow.
"I'm coming with you." She said. The rest just decided to drink later, so they can still have more fun and Candice still wanted to meet some people first before she get really drunk. Grace went with me to get drinks and as I walked passed a lot of people I can recognize and it's slightly getting on my nerves because I never really liked any of them when I was working in the company.
"The party didn't start yet and you're already ready to kill everyone in this room." Grace said as she probably noticed the stare I had on my face.
