"The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you."

The best human contact was never a limited sensation; the warmness of the skin will disappear surely, but that feeling of safety and protectiveness...no matter how quickly you no longer feel it, you can still feel the tingling small touch being craved in your memory for eternity.
Another thing about human contact is that it never fades away, even without the presence of the person who's causing it.
It could be a pro and a con at the same time, because who would want to forget something so pure and heartwarming like that?
Maybe the fact that you'd do anything- just anything to erase every memory, every kiss and every small leaving-butterflies-in-your-stomach touch from your memories when that person is gone.
Not everyone reacts the same way, of course, some of us actually would rather keep those memories to be reminded that this right there, was one of the best experiences that ever happened to them, no matter how painful it ended.
Who would I be, I wonder?
"Okay, I actually like this one better." I said, showing the piece of paper that I was just writing on to Niall. He rolled himself over the bed to face me, taking it from me. He took his time to read it, and I took my time to observe the way he focus on the stuff he reads giving it all his attention. I observed his blue eyes slowly moving as it moves on from one line to the other, careful not to miss a word.
It's been a few days since our heart to heart conversation, things went back to normal to say the least. Of course, my feelings can't just shrink and disappear into thin air in a matter of seconds, but I'm trying my best to see things as they are. Besides, I can't even think or feel anything towards Niall without remembering Chloe and how awful she called out all my insecurities.
"I'm no expert, but it is good." His eyes flickered on me; a smile was now visible on his face when he noticed I was staring.
"Really? You think it's good enough to put it in the book?" I couldn't help but have that same smile of his.
"Sure! Between the other twenty-something pieces we tried to write, this is the most unique one. It has Jade written all over it." He said with a playful smile.
"A few hours of trying to write together and you're already exposing my writing style, impressive." I playfully said, giggling.
"It wasn't hard to find actually. You're the kind of person that can see so much in something as small as a human touch." He said truthfully.
"Well, now it's not as small as you thought, is it?" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows. I found his finger slowly traces my hands up to my arms, shoulders until his hands cupped my cheeks.
"You tell me." He said in a low voice, his eyes pierced through my soul. I tried to hide how much I'm glad that we're that close to each other, but the closer we get the more I hear Chloe's voice ring in my head telling me all the reasons why I can't enjoy this one simple moment.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Niall's voice snapped me out of my thoughts, I felt his hands leaving my cheeks. Realizing the frown I didn't notice that I had on my face, I parted my lips on the verge of lying about how fine things are. But I couldn't bring myself to do that anymore.
"Chloe stopped by my house a few days ago." I finally admitted.
"What? Why?" Confusion was written all over his face, but he didn't sound that surprised.
