"Moments always blossom more beautifully in memories."

After reaching my last step, I couldn't help but throw everything I was holding between my arms right on the ground, causing a loud thud. I sat on the ground next to the mess I've made, breathing heavily from how long we've been walking.
"Remind me again-" I paused, still out of breath. "...Why couldn't we do this at home?" I laid my back on the ground, the sun was already slowly disappearing into the night and that was the perfect time to calm my mind with the most beautiful view.
"Because..." Paused Scar, with the same heavy breathes. "Home is boring and nothing can top this place anyways- babe! Help me out here." She said the first part to me and the second one to Nathan.
I was almost surprised to know that he was coming to the high hill since it's been a while since he hung out with us.
I darted my eyes away from the beautiful scenery to my surroundings; to find Marlene just standing there, looking awkwardly as the rest of us working and helping each other to get the place ready.
"Hey," I said to grab Marlene's attention. She looked at me with her enormous brown -kinda sad- eyes. I gestured with my hand to come to lay next to me on the ground and when I did, it almost felt like she was waiting for it.
"I know that you feel like a stranger, but trust me, they're all friendly once you really know them." I tried to assure her, she smiled in return with a nod.
Who knew I'd ever make friends with people who cry in clubs?
"Are you gonna watch us do all the work or what?" Grace yelled, standing next to Candice as they were taking out the food we brought and Niall was holding his phone next to them, checking the signal.
It's only been a few days since the last time I saw him and we talked the talk, but we haven't spoken ever since, not over the phone nor over texting, nothing. I guess there was nothing left to talk about and it saddens me so goddamn much, I don't know what is normal anymore and what is the right thing to do.
"Don't be dramatic, it's only for the night and we'll leave in the morning. There's not much to do." I replied, refusing to help them, but getting up anyways to have a closer look at what they're doing.
"We still need a flashlight that Scarlett forgot to take with her from the car," Grace yelled enough to make Scar hear her, which her response was what seemed like an apologetic shrug. "And we need wood for heat." She continued talking to us, totally ignoring Scar.
"I-I can help with the flashlight thing if you want," Marlene suggested nervously from behind me.
"Now that's the spirit, Marlene!" Grace clapped, handing Marlene Candice's car keys and she was already gone for the flashlight.
"So, how about you go for the wood thing?" Grace asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
"No."
"C'mon! You'll need the fire too to warm up."
"Why can't you do it?"
"Are you afraid of the dark or something? What are you? Five?" Scar yelled.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm not afraid of the dark for God's sake! I'll freaking do it." I said, hesitantly turning around, realizing that I don't actually want to walk all alone in the middle of nowhere. Moreover, if I told them that, they'll make fun of me, so, I kept moving forward, mentally wishing for some miracle to make this trip any safer.
I started walking, the sunlight is slowly fading, and the trees are surrounding me closer and closer by the second. I tried to calm my mind as I focused on finding the goddamn wood to get this over with until I heard some noises coming from behind as if someone coming my way. I didn't give it a big deal as it stopped, so I started to focus on spotting the wood we need until that same noises sounded closer. My heart was literally going to fall out of its place from how scared I was that I almost considered screaming, but instead, I decided to keep my cool and stop any kind of movement until that serial killer shows up and I'll hit them with the piece of wood I was holding in my hand. His body finally appeared, and I was about to raise my fake weapon to hit him, to find Niall in front of me.
