It was a matter of seconds before everyone snapped out of their haze and went into action. Nurses quickly surrounded us, bringing a gurney, carefully lifting him and applying pressure to his wound, immediately yelling instructions. "What the hell happened to him?" The direction may be applying to me since I did lug him inside the hospital, bleeding and all.
"I stabbed him." For a moment everyone stays silent, looking at one another. "Yeah I'm the crazy bitch in this town what else is new?" I spy one of the younger female nurses gawking at me, I smile at her. In return she takes a step back away from me.
I watch as they wheel him away. Taking that as my que to exit I start to turn when a red haired nurse stops me, along with the younger nurse who was clearly afraid of me, and a male nurse that was tall and lanky.
"Annabeth you can't go we need you to come with us so that way we could take care of you." I cross my arms, defiantly. I wasn't going to stay here any moment longer than necessary even if my body vibrated with pain and I was undeniably tired and weak.
She turns to the receptionist who was standing behind the counter watching the whole scene unfold as if it were a soap opera. "Call Annabeth's father and tell him he has to come down here straight away."
She nods her head dimly and sits down, she picks up the phone already putting the numbers down without even looking them up on files. "It's not necessary I'm going home." Her eyes flicker between the red haired nurse and I, with question.
I turn around, surprising myself when I get dizzy, stumbling to the side. Hands were on me in an instant helping to keep me upright." Get her a gurney."
I sigh, "don't be ridiculous I can walk." I mumble. When the gurney is placed in front of me I, eye it with mixed feelings before actually sitting on it.
Trying desperately to calm my anxiety I try playing it off not wanting it to show, so I turn to the red head. "So tell me Carly, am I gonna get my old room back or is it already taken?"
"You don't have a room here Annabeth now please lay down all the way." This time I do as she says without protest, it didn't matter anyways I was too tired to even sit upright at this point.
My eyelids slowly begin to open and close as the bright white lights flash as I'm wheeled away. "Guess that means it's taken," I say sleepily.
"Annabeth listen to me I need you to stay awake, the doctor has to see you." Fighting off sleep was by far the hardest thing known to earth. Especially because I kept flinching from the bright lights and wanted nothing more than to keep them closed.
"Well then what the hell is taking him so long?"
We arrive in a room, and without wanting them to, they help me onto the bed anyways. I turn my head to the side, "Oh would you look at that, it looks like I got my room after all." I chuckle. "Oh what a cruel, cruel world we live in." Looking up I catch the young nurse staring at me so I smile at her, turning my head slightly to the side. "Go see what's taking the doctors time."
Both of them rush to the door, as soon as they were out of the room they started having a low conversation, probably about me. "You need to stop tormenting the nurses." I turn to Carly, raising my eyebrow but flinch from the pain.
"What's the fun in that?" She nods her at me, closing the curtain she lays the hospital gown in the bed.
"You're not serious, I can't wear that," I stare at it then her slightly panicked.
