The walk to my house was silent. We didn't talk about what I did and why I did it. Hell we didn't talk about much of anything... we were just quiet the entire way back.
Nathan didn't let go of my hand though, not once since we had left that place and I surprisingly didn't care. Maybe it was because I actually had a good time with him, talking about the most random stuff. Whatever it is, it made me alright with it.
When I was done with my lollipop I didn't exactly know what to do with it so I just removed the stick from my mouth and stuck it in the back of my jeans so I can throw it away later. "Sorry we didn't get to go to the movies tonight. I know that I said we would but it's already getting really late out so I thought we could always do that for tomorrow for date numbero trés." I look over at his face and when he looks down at me I raise a brow at him.
"And what makes you think I would go on another date with you?" We were just outside the door to my house now and I knew Mary would still be up waiting for me up in my room watching chick-flicks but in a matter of time she would peek outside my bedroom window. And that girl has eyes and ears of a hawk.
"Well seeing that you are in no way protesting over me holding you're hand right now or the fact that you just called me babe and said how you couldn't wait for our next date. Oh and not to mention the fact that you kissed me! I'm pretty sure it's a definite sign that you like me. A guy can only take so much hints." He winks.
"Okay first of all, it was a kiss in the cheek it's not like I made out with you-"
"Not that I wouldn't mind that." I roll my eyes at him but smile despite myself.
"Anyways like I was saying before I was rudely interrupted... I called you babe because..."
"Yeah yeah I know it was for them." He shakes his head and looks out at the street. I sigh mentally, what are you about to say Annabeth? Try not to regret it later.
"But I wasn't lying about the whole next date thing." His head whipped towards me in a flash. "Geez! What, no whiplash?" I say sarcastically.
"So you do like me!" He smiles brightly. I roll my eyes. Of course he thinks about that instead of the other thing I said.
"Hold on I didn't say anything about liking you."
"But you're not denying it either." When I didn't answer his smile widened even more.
Well this should quickly get rid of that, "I only want to go out on another date with you just for the free food." Nathan's jaw drops as he scans my face to see if I was serious. I wink at him and he closes his mouth to smile at me, amused. Good that got his mind off of that whole ridiculous idea of me liking him.
"Okay well how about I'll pick you up here at three?"
"Yeah, why not? Okay then... I'll see you tomorrow." As I put my key in the lock I felt a pair of soft lips on my cheek freezing me in my spot.
"Goodnight." Don't look at him! Do not look at him! I command you to not look at him!
Forcing myself to stop my blush from rising, I unlock the front door and step inside my house looking back only once to see him still there smiling shyly at me. I give him an awkward wave goodbye before I close the door sighing.
Well this was a very entertaining night. Trudging up the stairs, I barge into my room when I was immediately bombarded by Lily. "What happened! You didn't message me back after awhile! Is he a good kisser?"
I face palm myself before grabbing my pjs for bed which consisted of flannel bottom pants and a 'book is life' t-shirt and go into the bathroom to change. Putting my clothes in the dirty laundry basket, I brush my teeth and head back in my room.
