I let out a yelp and dove to the side, the black wolf sailing over my head and crashing into the door.
Stay cool Sin, stay cool I whispered to myself, breathing rapidly. I got up and turned to see the wolf climb back onto his feet.
"Cristobal?" I asked, looking for some sort of recognition.
The wolf growled and jumped at me. Again, I dodged it, this time by jumping over the bed.
"Cristobal. Stop. This isn't funny." I growled. At the moment I could care less if he was a werewolf. He could shift, which means he could control his wolf and shift back.
The wolf growled one more time and lunged forward to bite my legs. I jumped backwards and followed that up by a kick under the chin. This only succeeded in making the wolf more irritated.
He started to stalk me, head down, haunches raised, fur on end. His teeth were bared and his ears were pinned to the side of his skull. For every step forward he took, I took a step back. I knew what he was doing, I had seen Phantom do it several times when we were hunting together. He was trying to corner me.
Just as I had that thought, my back hit the wall, and I knew what came next. In hunting, the poor animal always knew. They would get a terrified look in their eyes and just stand still, unable to escape. I wondered if I had the same look in my eyes right now.
The wolf kept walking toward me, step by step until he was close enough to feel his breath. But I can't die like this, I thought. I was an Alpha, after all, and we didn't die that easily. I bared my teeth and stared at the huge wolf, who was so big, he was completely level with me. I could feel his murderous intent pulsing through the air, aimed at me.
He stood up, on his hind legs and toward over me, snarling.
The bedroom door creaked open.
The wolf leaned down, wrapping his long canines around my neck, and I snarled at the feeling of being the hunted, not the hunter.
Something stumbled into the room.
His teeth tightened their grip on my neck and I could feel his saliva drip down my neck, already anticipating the sound my neck would make when it broke.
I closed my eyes, angry that I could do nothing on my own, that I had been played into this situation by my own hand. I gritted my teeth and waited for his teeth to puncture my skin.
Three.
Two. I took a deep breathe.
One.
I relaxed my body, waiting for the pain that never came. Instead, a silver steak flew across the room and slammed into the black wolf, dislodging his grip on my neck.
I gasped and scrambled away from the wall, shooting towards the door. I took a glance back at where Cristobal was wrestling with the silver streak that had saved my life. I hesitated before exiting through the door, trying to make out the figure in the whining ball of fur that was tearing up the room before my very eyes. What I saw, stopped me in my tracks. I felt my blood run cold and my heart drop to my feet. Within the whirlwind of fur, a pair of silver-white eyes stared back at me, begging me for help.
Hey guys! Wow. So I'm sorry. Again, I have no excuse. For once though, I'm on a break from work and school. For a week. Probably. So I'm just going to write my little heart out, on paper so that I can just get to it when ever I have time. I can't promise another update too soon so don't get your hopes up. I love you all.
