Becoming the Alpha Queen

Chapter 8

Without a word, Alpha Abhay motioned for Daren and Reza to step froward. When they did, Alpha Abhay dipped two small glasses into the pool of water that had collected in the wolfs paw. He gave one glass to each boy and, simultaneously, they drank. Almost immediately they dropped to they knees and there was a rustling in the treeline surrounding us. From the trees surrounding us came two wolves. One was a dark chocolate brown with lighter brown paws and beautiful clear hazel eyes, mirroring Daren's dark brown hair and hazel eyes. The other was obviously Reza, with its yellow blond fur and caramel colored eyes.

Warily, both wolves made their way through the crowd of people gathered and in one giant leap, jumped onto the rocks platform where the boys were kneeling. Reza was the first to lock eyes with his wolf who stool in front of him, its eyes flickering all over the place trying to absorb everything that was happening. Daren looked at his wolf at well, but his wolf was standing with its chest protruding, trying to play off its obvious fear. Daren then raised his hand, palm up and Reza did the same. Together, both wolves lowered their head and touched their snouts to the guys open hands. There were two blinding flashes of lightning and suddenly the wolves had disappeared. Daren and Reza were on all fours now, in obvious pain. Reza was curled up into a ball, his head between his knees, his fists banging repeatedly on the ground. Daren had his head on the floor, his  hands tangled in his hair, tugging on it. Both were muttering to themselves, or most likely communicating with their wolves. Reza seemed to be the first one to calm own completely and with the help of some other werewolves, he was back in his chair within a few minutes. Daren took a little longer but he too seemed to be able to gain control and calm down.

Gabriel and Altair were next, motioned forward by my dad. They too drank from the water in the wolfs paw and once they were on the ground their wolves emerged from the forest. Like Daren and Reza, Gabriel and Altair wolves reflected their physical appearance. Altair wolf shared his short black hair but had silver blue fur around its muzzle and paws. Its eyes were a dark violet bordering on black like his, a trait that ran in the Beta family. Gabriels wolf was black as well but its fur was longer and a bit curly, and its blue eyes contrasted sharply against its dark colored coat. The same process that had happened with Daren and Reza happened with them and within moments, their wolves had disappeared and the boys were writhing in pain on the ground. 

Gabriels eyes were rolled back into his head and he was muttering incoherently. Altair was shaking badly, his back arched in pain, his fingers trying to find something to grab a hold of. It all seemed to be over in a flash, as both Altair and Gabriel calmed down, relaxed, and with very minimal help managed to make it back to their seats okay.

Finally, it was time for Ciro and Tanya to shift. This time, both Amy father and Alpha Abhay came forward and , dipping the glasses one final time, each one of them gave it to their respective heirs. Once they drank it, my dad helped Tanya down to the floor and Alpha Abhay helped Ciro and then they stepped back. Instantly, their wolves emerged from the forest and I could see the alpha blood running through their veins. Tanyas wolf, a gorgeous cream colored she wolf with blue eyes stood regally, her head held high and tail raised, emitting every sign of authority, commanding everyone's attention. Ciros wolf, a golden brown wolf with a black undercoat and green eyes stood in the same position, but his head was more level, allowing him to look everyone gathered in the eye and watch them submit to his power.

I gasped at their beauty as they began to walk toward their human counterparts, their muscles rippling under their coats. Ciro and Tanya were sitting back to back, using each other for support. Then Ciros wolf lowered its head to Ciros forehead and I saw Ciros jaw clench against the coming pain. Tanya's wolf did the same, but instead of touching my sisters forehead, the she wolf touched her heart. Two more flashes of lightening lit up the sky and, just like before, the two wolves vanished. Tanya's eyes were squeezed shut and she was biting her lip, trying not to cry out in pain. Ciros expression was similar but he was baring his teeth instead.

My dad rushed forward to help Tanya stand and Ciro wobbled to his feet with his fathers help. Altair and Daren managed to stand up and walk to Tanya to support her and Gabriel and Reza did the same with Ciro. The heirs from the two packs were facing away from each other, Tanya, Altair and Daren facing North and Ciro, Gabriel and Reza Facing south. There was a huge commotion in the crowd as the people gathered rushed from one side or the other toward their respective packs heirs. Once everyone was settled down, my dad and Alpha Abhay stepped forward and shifted.

I was always taken aback by the Alpha wolves, no matter how many times I'd seen them. Normal werewolves were bigger than wild wolves but the Alpha werewolves were something else. My dad had transformed into his huge black wolf, his forest green eyes shining in the moonlight. I noticed that my dad- or well my dads wolf- had started to show signs of his age with silver hair covering most of his muzzle and ears. Alpha Abhays wolf was black as well but its silver hairs were spread out all over it fur, making it look an interesting shade of gray. The two Alphas raised their heads and let out a long howl. The heirs froze at the sound and began to shift.

I could hear the sound of bones snapping  and saw them all arch their backs and cry out in pain. I had always known the first shift would be painful but this shift made it seem even more so. All you could here was their whimpers and screams so I covered my eyes to try and stop it from happening. Suddenly everything was quiet.

"Holy sh!t." I heard Nyx whisper.

I slowly opened my eyes and my breath got caught in my throat. The six wolves that had disappeared when they had reached their human half were now standing in front of us, their breathing labored. They still stood back to back since the ceremony wasn't over. My dad, back in human form wearing a extra pair of slacks and a button up shirt stepped forward in front of Tanya.

"Tanya. Do you accept or reject the offer that Ciro, heir of Night Star has given?" he asked her.

I appreciate the offer but i reject it.  Tanyas voice entered my head and I knew that everyone else could hear her too.

"Very well. Do you accept the title of Alpha to the Winter Breeze pack and promise to lead and protect its members to the best of your abilities alongside your beta and lead warrior?"

I do Tanya said, her wolf bowing its head.

When she said those two magic words I released a breath I didn't know I had been holding. I cheered and clapped alongside everyone else when my dad formally introduced my sister, Altair and Daren to the rest of Winter Breeze.

When everything was silent again Aloha Abhay stepped in front of Ciro.

"Ciro do you accept the rejection of Tanya Alpha of Winter Breeze?" he said.

I do came Ciros voice

"Do you accept the title of Alpha to the Night Star pack and promise to lead and protect its members to the best of your abilities with your Beta and Lead Warrior?"

Of course I do Ciro answered.

"Good. Night Star!" Abhay concluded. " Your new Alpha!" the cheers rose in the Night Star wolves that were gathered. the newly shifted stepped forward to the sound.

"Tanya, Ciro, Alphas of the packs gathered, turn to meet each other." my dad and Alpha Abhay said in unison. all six loaves slowly turned to look at each other and then Tanya and Ciro said the word that ended the joyous mood I was in. They turned toward each other, their noses almost touching, ears quivering and said....

Dun dun dun! Omg cliff hanger! Lol

Hey pups! So here's an update just like I promised! Love me  :p or well hate me if you don't like the cliffhanger but anyway! So be happy I updated cuz I really want going to since there was a party I was going to to celebrate an early birthday but I decided to love you guys more :D  haha anyways you know the drill!
