Becoming the Alpha Queen

Chapter 13

I opened my eyes with a gasp, looking around wildly to make out where I was. I realized I was bound to a tree much like Steven and Nyx were.

Sh*t! Steven! Nyx!

My friends were laying on the ground before me, apparently knocked out. Steven now had scars on his back much like I had seen on my brother. Nyx sported wounds similar to his on her face arms and legs.

I heard a groan come from behind me and I felt my brothers presence in the mind link.
Kasei? I asked.

Sin!? Oh god you're okay! Where are you? Where am I? Where are Steven and Nyx? He asked, a panicked tone in his voice.

Kay, calm down. I'm tied to the tree behind you, Steven and Nyx are on the ground in front of me, unconscious I think. What the hell is going on? I tried my best to keep the panic out out my voice as well.

They were waiting for us when we landed, I fought them for as long as I could but they caught me by surprise. I wasn't ready for their attack. Next thing I knew I was being dragged here along with Nyx and Steven and tied to the tree.... he hesitated. Sin, that whip hurt... I couldn't deal with it for long... My baby brother seemed like he was on the verge of crying.

Hey, you did okay. I could feel his pain through the link. I don't think any wolf would be able to stand it for long, and we're not even shifted yet. That whip tears up the bond between human and wolf. I ran his story through my mind again, imagining what it was like, to land safely and think everything was going to be okay, then have someone waiting to kill or kidnap you. Wait Kasei. You said someone was waiting fur you once you landed right? And you fought with them?

Well yea... Why?

Well is just because there was nobody waiting there fire me... I found you guys on my own. It wasn't until I tried to rescue you guys that I was caught.... oh no! I gasped in realization. The wolf that attacked me said "there you are." It was a trap! They set it up so they could capture me! I can't imagine why though...

On the ground, Nyx and Steven stirred, groaning lightly.  Steven opened his eyes and looked around for a moment before seeing me. His eyes widened in surprise but he didn't seem to have the strength to speak.

"Well well, it looks like our guests are awake. That didn't take as long as I thought." A voice sneered from the edge of the forest. From the shadows, there stepped a man with black hair and glowing yellow eyes. I immediately recognized him as the one that had kicked Kasei and the one with whom I had fought.

"Who are you? What do you want?" I snarled struggling against the ropes that bound me to the tree.

"Fiestey aren't we?" He snickered.

He walked towards me and gently stroked the side of my face. I tried to bite him but he quickly withdrew his hand and laughed again. I growled lowly.  I saw Nyx and Steven get up and stumble forward enraged that he had touched me. The wolf however easily turned around and sent them flying into the trees with a swift blow to their stomachs.  There was a sharp crack as Nyx's skull collided with the trunk of a tree. She collapsed on the floor, bleeding from a wound on her head. Stevens heavier figure skidded along the ground and he hit the tree with a dull thud. He twitched a little and I knew he wasn't as severely hurt as Nyx.

Steven stay down, I don't want you getting even more hurt than necessary.

The was no reply but he didn't attempt to get up either.

"Its a good thing you guys weren't out for long, it would have been a shame to have your dad come looking for you...if the Alpha didn't kill him already of course. We have traps set up all around here.  I have been taking care of you until the Alpha gets back but its taking longer than we originally anticipated. I guess your pack is stronger that we thought." He drawled.
