Sitting on her bed Cassie indulged herself into a good book. She was currently on the 3rd installment of the twilight saga and was more interested then she'd thought she'd be.

For some reason she couldn't decide whether she was team Edward or team Jacob. Both guys cared for Bella in a way that Cassie could only dream of.

Hearing the slight knocks at her door Cassie rolled her eyes placing her book down as her door creaked open.

"Hey babydoll." Her sister Cameron said coming in plopping down on her bed with her.

Taking a sigh of relief Cassie was grateful that it wasn't their father. She was too tired to fight with him tonight.

"You look like you saw a ghost." Cameron laughed squeezing her leg a little to loosen her up from her stiff stature.

"I thought you were dad." Cassie whispered opening her book beginning to read again.

"Oh." Cameron mumbled. "I apologize then. I don't believe he's here though thank God."

Looking up at her sister Cassie couldn't help but feel bad for her. She was twenty years old and still stuck at home with the likes of Dylan and his controlling abusive ways.

"Cam why are you still here? You could've left a long time ago. You were valedictorian of your class for Christ sake. You could've went to any school of your choice and gotten far away from here. Instead you settle for retail to receive minimum wage and be treated like our fathers slave. Why?" Cassie asked getting upset at the thought that cam was holding back.

"Because I would never leave you to go through this alone that's why. What kind of big sister would I have been to leave you here knowing what he was putting us through? I did what I had to do."

Not saying anything Cassie let her sisters words sink in. She stayed behind for her.

"I'm sorry." Cassie mumbled wiping her eyes.

"It's ok Cass." Cameron said climbing to the top of the bed with her sister and wrapping her arms around her. "I just know that you'll do everything I didn't and you'll make me so proud. I talked to your coach and she said your spot is always available."

Looking up at her sister Cassie smiled big before it turned into a frown. "If he finds out Cameron he'll-"

"He won't. You just do what you need to do and I'll handle him." Cameron assured her.

Nodding her head hesitantly Cassie laid her head on Cameron's shoulder. "I miss her Cam. I miss her so much. She would've never let him do this to us."
