Chapter Twenty:

Micah Grayson

Driving with a quiet Cassie in his passenger seat Micah occasionally gazed over in her direction. She hadn't said much since she came from being questioned and it was bothering him.

Her head rested against the window as her eyes slowly raked over the trees that stood as Micah sped past them. She was quiet because she was concerned. The possibility that something awful could've happened to Peyton made her stomach turn.

Feeling a warm hand rub soothingly against her thigh Cassie broke out of her stare and looked over at Micah. His forehead was wrinkled in concern as he held his plump pink bottom lip between his teeth. His eyes searched hers as she gave him a small smile placing her small hand over his.

"I'm fine Micah." Cassie finally said assuring him that she was indeed okay.

Twisting his lips to the side he focused back on the road pulling at his chin hair.
The car was quiet yet again as the heat blowing through the vents was all that could be heard.

"What they asked you?" Micah said looking over at her briefly before focusing his attention back on driving.

Sighing Cassie played with her fingers. "They recovered a text from his records from an unknown number saying it was me and to meet him at the park." She mumbled wondering who would do such a thing.

"But you didn't right?"

Looking at him crazy Cassie rolled her eyes. "Of course I didn't. I stopped talking to him like you told me to."

Already knowing she was telling the truth Micah simply nodded cursing himself for putting her name in it.

"Where were you at the time he was supposedly meeting you at the park?" Micah asked already knowing.

"I was at school for a little bit and then Cam and I went grocery shopping before going home. They cleared my name, but still Micah someone tried to frame me in order to harm him." Cassie said as her voice started to shake.

Rolling his eyes Micah cracked his window letting the chilling air seep in.

"I don't know, but as long as you good then I'm good. All that other shit irrelevant." Micah shrugged.

"Wow Mic thanks for caring." Cassie mumbled sarcastically.

"You over there abut to cry over a nigga that just tried to beat you up a month ago.' Micah said waving her off. "I'm sorry I can't relate."

Staying quiet Cassie didn't respond. She had nothing more to say. It was obvious Micah could careless about Peyton and the situation so she just wouldn't bring it up around him.

Catching on to her sudden attitude that matched his Micah turned up the radio. Bobbing his head he rapped along to the words.

"I woke up this morning with you on my mind. She say she don't miss me, I know that she lying. I can see straight through that girl like a window no blinds."

Looking over at Micah as he listened to Lucci. Cassie tried to stay angry with him. He was just so cute to her it was hard to. She thought about the previous night when he'd let her see him weak and tried to fight the smile that graced her face. She'd worked so hard to get him to open up and now he had. The only thing was she was scared. Scared that loving him would somehow hurt her in the end.

Pushing the thought to the back of her head Cassie continued watching Micah rap.

"Do you remember those nights we was fussin' and fightin, then be fuckin' all night?
I know you remember those nights can't forget not a night, with me, alright." Micah smirked grabbing her chin as she laughed and pushed his hand away.
