Chapter 40:

Micah Grayson

Looking over a nervous Cassie, Micah had to admit he was a bit nervous as well. They'd made it to the courthouse and were awaiting their turn to officially be married. The anticipation was killing them both.

"This is it we're really about to become one. Mr. and Mrs. Micah Nolan Grayson." Cassie said holding a firm grip on his hand while they sat outside the courtroom.

"I know. Shit crazy."

"No shits amazing." Cassie corrected.

Rolling his eyes Micah waved her off. He really felt like she was the only woman in the world who'd be willing to put up with him. Anyone who knew all he came with and still stuck by him deserved to be his wife. The fact that she was carrying his seed was more than enough reason to seal the deal.

Once their name was called Micah stood up helping Cassie stand with him. Once they were escorted into the courtroom they were greeted by the judge as he went over a fee thing with them regarding the procedure.

"Alright, you two do understand that when you leave this courtroom you'll be united in holy matrimony correct?" Judge Pryer asked the two as both Cassie and Micah agreed that they were aware. "You guys are so young I want to make sure that y'all understand how serious this is."

"We do." They both said in unison.

Smiling the judge placed on his reading glasses. "Great. Well if y'all are ready I'll start. Is there any family who'll be witnessing this moment on you alls behalf."

"No your honor it's just us." Micah spoke up.

"In order to start I'll need witnesses so I'll have a couple people that are waiting sit in on the process. Is that okay?"

"That's fine." Cassie said before looking up at Micah who was looking down at her.

Once the bailiff had the others come in to witness the judge was ready to begin the ceremony.

"We are gathered here today to join these two people in the loving bonds of marriage. In marriage, we give ourselves freely and generously into the hands of the one we love, and in doing so, each of us receives the love and trust of the other as our most precious gift." Judge Pryer spoke.

Taking a small pause he looked at the couple who was listening to his words intently. "Do you each enter this marriage of your own free will, free of any reason why you should not be joined?"

"We do." Cassie and Micah spoke in unison as the judge nodded.

"Good. Do you Micah Nolan Grayson take Cassie Renae Reynolds to be your lawfully wedded wife? Do you swear in the presence of those gathered here you will love, honor, cherish and comfort her, in good times and bad, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, forevermore?"
