Chapter 21

Micah Grayson

Sitting back on the couch Micah watched Cassie through hooded eyes as he waited for her to speak. She'd been sitting there just staring at him, but had yet to form words.

Continuing to smoke Micah worked on rolling his second blunt.

"So you just gone sit there and stare all night? You can go home and do that shit baby girl." Micah said to her not making any eye contact.

"I wanna talk." Cassie finally managed to say.

"Well say something then." Micah said now looking up at her.

Clearing her throat Cassie rubbed her hands against her jeans before scooting toward the edge of the couch.

"Well I wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have let my daddy come in between what we have-"

"Had." Micah said nonchalantly.

"Micah stop." Cassie said as her lip quivered a little.

"Stop what? I ain't did shit."

Breathing in and out slowly Cassie tried to keep from crying.

"I'm telling you I'm sorry. I want to fix it." Cassie said playing with her fingers as she bit at her lip.

"You want me to be honest with you?" Micah asked her sitting up from his slouched position.

Nodding her head hesitantly Cassie awaited his response.

"You fake." Micah shrugged dusting his pants off and standing up. "You can go now."

Turning his back to her Micah made his way into the kitchen as both dogs followed behind him.

Looking through the pantry Micah settled on a bag of hot chips and some Oreos for himself. Grabbing the bag of dog treats he set two on the floor for both Blue and Asesina.

"I don't know what y'all got going on but stop it. Them gone be some ugly ass babies." Micah said to the two dogs who he treated like humans.

Ashe washed his hands at the sink Micah could feel Cassie standing in the doorway watching him.

"You ain't left yet?" He asked looking over his shoulder seeing that she was crying.

"I'm not leaving." Cassie mumbled.

Laughing Micah nodded. "Right." He said sarcastically.

Ignoring her he grabbed his snacks and sat at the table to eat them while watching his two dogs. If they weren't fighting they were in weird positions and he didn't like it. Asesina was too big to be freaking on baby blue.

Eating his chips Micah sighed hearing Cassie sniffle. "You blowing it right now." He mumbled.

"Fine I'll leave." Cassie said exiting the kitchen and heading toward the living room to get her things:

"Tell yo mama bye blue. Who know's when master will let us see her again." Micah said watching as blue lifted his head hearing his name.

"I made a fucking mistake Micah. I can admit I was wrong. I got some attention from my dad that I haven't got in years and I felt like his child again ok? I felt like I was loved again. He hugged me and I didn't have to flench. I'm sorry that I lost sight of the bigger picture in the mist of all that." Cassie said as she stood near the door shaking her head while wiping her face.
