Cas walks into the cafeteria, his lunch box in hand. He's never been able to eat school lunch. Every single time he eats it, he barfs it all back up. Every time, no matter what it is.
He brightens at the sight of Dean Winchester, his boyfriend of a year and still going strong.
Dean smiles broadly and waves wildly. Cas sighs happily and plops down in front of him.
"Hey frumpy face." Dean grins. Cas grimaces.
"Yeah, no, not that." Cas shakes his head. Dean is constantly giving him terrible nicknames.
"'Ey, Castiel, my friend, buddy, pal." Balthazar, the person Cas would say is his best friend, plops down beside him.
"What do you need, Balthazar?" Cas asks with a sigh.
"Well you see, my mum forgot to sweeten my tea," Balthazar holds up his thermos. "Think you could do me solid and helping your ol' pal Balthy out?"
Cas sighs and unzips his lunch box, pulling out a jar of honey. Using a spoon, he scoops some of the honey into his friend's tea.
"Thanks!" Balthazar smiles and trots off.
"You and your honey, it's cute." Dean smiles, staring at Cas. "Almost as your love for bees."
"Bees are fascinating creatures, I love following them, studying their patterns." Cas shakes his head. "I'm such a nerd."
"You're adorable." Dean leans over the table to kiss Cas' nose.
"Hey, no PDA!" One of the teachers calls out. Dean plops back down onto his seat with a chuckle. "They're just jealous that we have a happy relationship and they have problems." Dean laughs.
When the end of lunch bell rings, Cas and Dean walk together to Cas' class. They pull to a stop outside of it.
"You should leave before you're late, again." Cas sighs.
"I'd rather stay with you," Dean murmurs. He does this every time they have separate classes.
"I know, but history is my favorite class, and you'll distract me." Cas shakes his head, hiding his smile. "Goodbye."
"See you after class!" Dean drops a quick kiss on Cas' lips and rushes off. "I love you, Castiel!" He yells as he's halfway down the hall.
"I love you too, Dean!" Cas shouts in response, a smile breaking out.
He slips into class, a goofball smile on his face. Dean always leaves Cas this way.
Class zooms by, and Cas can't remember a thing that was talked about. Cas waits for Dean out in the hall when the bell rings.
His eyes are wide and has a sly grin on his face.
"Hey, Honeybee." His grin widens.
"Honeybee?" Cas tilts his head.
"Your nickname, it's perfect, cause you like honey and you love bees and you're just so adorable, you're my little honeybee." Dean looks expectantly at Cas, wanting to hear his opinion.
"I don't know, kinda sounds," he trails off.
"Well I like it, I'm keeping it." Dean grabs Cas' hand and they walk to their next class.
In that days that pass, Dean uses Honeybee as Cas' nickname. And the more Dean uses it, the more Cas likes it. By the next week, anytime Dean says it, Cas can't help but smile. He loves Dean so much, he has no doubt in his mind he and Dean will always be together.
