It was too early when you heard commotion and you knew why, the princes would be leaving soon and even if you didn’t have the energy of standing up you forced yourself to do so. They had offered their help and the least that you could do was to go and say goodbye. As you stood up, you felt something in your grasp and as you opened it, you noticed the ring that your father gave you before he died. You placed it on a small table and and searched for something to wear. After searching around, you noticed that new clothing were added to your inventory and was yours, that you were sure. Getting in some fresh clothes, and at least washing your face, you headed out. Your eyes felt so dry and you knew that they were puffy from all the crying but you did not care, those details were not important.
The halls of the castle were empty except for a few servants, who as they saw you they bowed. Usually you would probably stop and tell them not do do such an action, Instead, you continued with your path. As you thought, they were all outside and most were already had mounted their horses, and were ready to leave. Prince Ace turned around and his eyes widened when he spotted you. Prince Terra,Laguna were having a conversation but as soon as Prince Ace’s eyes were looking away from them, they roo turn to see what it was that caught his attention. Their as too widened at your sight.
Ace took the initiative of getting off his horse and made his way to your spot, which was at the entrance of the castle. As you saw around, you noticed that there were so many people around and from what you gathered, the people of the kingdom were grieving, if their tears told wasn’t enough evidence. “[Name]...We shall be leaving soon.” The male informed calmly.
No mater how much to tried to be positive, most of the time it gets tired to pretend that you are fine and if you offer a smile, they would know it was fake, forced. “I see, I wish you luck on your journey.”
Terra and Laguna made their way to you and their expressions help sympathy. “Thank you, we too wish you luck on your new path.” Terra offered.
“Thank you.” That is all that you could offer at the moment,
Soon the rest of the princes joined you and they seem to at least say goodbye before they left. “Please be safe, we will be in touch.” Laguna smiled but the last happiness has left your being now.
“Again, thank you. I too will be in touch and if any of you need any help, and if I can provide it, be assured that I shall provide it.” This was directed to all of them. “Did you get supplies for the journey? Food, water and the such?” You asked knowing that their journey will be long.
They nodded. Soon it was time for them to leave and they did, but Ace, Terra and Laguna remained with you, Sora, Riku,Rufus and Noctis. “[Name], Sometimes we have no choice but to let go of the past to move forward. That's why we're made to forget. Forget our memories of the dead...” As he said this, you shook your head.
A sigh escaped your lips. “ Thank you, I really do but as much as I try to forget the past, I can’t. It haunts me, you are all witnesses of that. Besides, if I forget about their memories, then it’s like they did not exist, if I do forget of the past, then they will truly be dead. I don’t want that to happen. I will sure move forward, after all, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” A bitter laugh emanated from your lips.
Ace smiled in returned. “That is fair enough, as long as you move on.” With that they walked away and mounted their horses. Now that they were ready, they started to move and you stood there watching how they began to dissappear from your view.
