Thunder, that loud crackling echoing withing the walls sent your heart in panic as you bolted up from your bed. "Easy, it's just thunder." A pair of hands pushed you down on your bed.
Your breathing calmed down a little once you were fully awake. The room was lit by come candles that flickered, as if some wind had entered the room. Dirty blond hair and very green eyes belonged to the male. Ignis. Those green eyes held concern as he pulled away, but bent down to cover your body with the sheets of the bed. Once he was content with keeping you warm, he pulled away but did not leave.
He looked so worried about about, and although during your time here you hadn't seen him much, he seemed very quiet, collected and very mature. "Thanks," just as your last memories resurfaced, it was inevitable not to be embarrrassed, "you brought me here, didn't byou?"
The man nodded finally walking back to the chair that was located just a could of feet away. "I did, you were drenched in water and you were so cold." Just as he was about to say something else, he cleared his throat, and looked away nervously. "Please forgive my insolence," at your puzzled look, he glanced at your body, "since there were no other female servants available, I took it upon myself to change your attire."
With widened eyes, you lifted the sheets and sure enough, you were changed in your night clothing and very much dry. A tint color covered your cheeks, and you could feel the heat rising as you imagined him changing you.
"If I hadn't, you would have gotten sick. Again, I apologise for such imprudent behavior."
He apologized once more, looking terribly ashamed and gulty. But, when had you fallen asleep? You're unsure, but just think about it, made you relive the encounter of your friends...No, enemies. The embarrassment evaporated into nothing only to be replaced by grief. "Thank you, I appreciate your concern."
"I know it is not my place to speak so formally, but, if you even feel the need to speak, I shall lend my ears and I will gladly listen to your trubles." His kindness only increased your self pity. Worry, that is what you have given them instead of trying to actually do something that would benefit everyone.
"Thank you again but," even as he rose to his feet when you sat up, threw your feet over the side of the bed, you smiled, "I really appreciate it. I just," as you clenched your hand into a fist, you flinched as a stinging sensation came from the palm of your hand. It was then that you realized that your left hand was bandaged.
His green orbs traveled to what had captured your attention. "You wounded yourself with your dagger, even as you slept, you refused to let go. The wound isn't deep, you'll be fine in a couple of days. As for the dagger, it is on your nightstand."
Turning your head to said object, it was there. "I know it must not be easy," there was uncertainty in the tone of his voice, but he continued, "but you don't have to fight this alone. You have your friends that you can rely on.""I know that, I just," shaking your head, you dismissed that thought, "I need to do this, I have been delaying what I need to do. Now, I must finish this even if it is the last thing I do."
A ghost of a smile showed in his serious face,"your fear is natural and although your memories do not define who you are, I believe it is important to remember who you were and remember those who are not longer with you. If you desire not to expose yourself to something as unpleasant as killing someone, we're going to support you. However, it's essential to face your fears. °You gain strength, courage, and confidence by each experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.°"
Your eyes softened, those words lifted some of the weight off your shoulders. "Thank you, you have no idea how at ease I feel with those words. But you must have been here all night, you can go to your chamber and rest. I'll be fine."
"There is no need to thank me, I am utter glad that my words helped you. However, you did not eat anything for dinner and there isn't anyone available, I will gladly prepare something for you."
"No! That's no necessary," but from the way he looked, he will not change his mind that easy, "I am rather tired."
"I see, in that case I shall take my leave. Rest well, if you need anything, don't hesitate to tell me, I my chamber is right next to King Noctis'." With a hesitant pace, he walked out of the room.
Once he was outside, a small smile adorned your features. The sound of thunder not too far ring in your ears, but even so, tiredness drowned your body so you decided to do what you told Ignis, sleep.
Next morning you had been informed of yet another meeting. This time you didn't look as crestfallen as you did yesterday, and it seemed to have a good impact on the others as well. They greeted you with a smile as you passed by, and by the time you arrived to the meeting room, everybody was there, or at least that is how it looked. Just as you arrived, Axel, Roxas and Zexion arrived.
"Good, everyone is here." Caius announced as he rose from his seat. "A couple of more preparations need to be made, but it is nothing that can not be done in a couple of hours. Although I would have preferred to have had more time, it's important that we do not waste any more time. Have you all prepared your army? I know it is so sudden, but we need to move out if we want to arrive there as soon as possible."
There were various of yes, but before anyone else spoke, Terra continued. "What did you find?" His eyes traveled to the trio of Nobodies.
Said males glanced at one another before Zexion decided to speak. "As planned, we arrived outside of the Kingdom but it was protected by that shield. We found it extremely difficult to be allowed to enter, we had to try different locations before we managed to find a weakspot. Even so, that very same spot shifted every ten minutes or so, it took Roxas even longer to exit the Kingdom."
"If that is the case, we cannot allow [Name] to enter!" Sora cried out, and he wasn't the only one to be against that idea.
Although their eyes were not on you, they were arguing amongst themselves. A pang of fear struck your heat, but, Ignis was right. Perhaps...It would be dangerous and it maybe be the cause of your death but you cannot just seat there and let them all take care of your problems. This is something that you need to do, not for them but also for you too. Standing up abruptly, sending a screeching sound as the chair was pushed back, it made the arguing stop. "I," all of a sudden their attention made you a little uncomfortable, "I want to do this," as Riku began to open his mouth, you interrupted him, "even if it is too risky. No one will convince me other wise."
Silence, even Rufus and Caius were in complete shock. "Well," Rufus cleared his throat, "We will provide you with some protection. A group of our best warriors will be with you, and as soon as you arrive to the castle your personal guards will make sure to help you as well."
"If that's all you need me for, I'll like to get ready."
"Of course, you maybe leave. Once the group that will accompany you is made, we will let you know."
That step, it probably looked miniscule with what they were doing but, this time your heart wasn't beating with just fear. No, it was beating with excitement and a small hint of that fear. You wondered what it would be like after, if you manage, that other woman was killed. You'll you return to be the old [Name]? Or would you remain the same but gain those memories?
But, what would happen if you failed? If that was the case, there was some reassurance that the other wise take care of everything, even if you died. You had been scared of dying, but now, now it did not scared so much. As long as the war came to a complete stop, nothing else mattered.
