Your world had been simply turned upside down, the quiet and calm fake life was over. Now, now you had to face reality, to see outside the small bubble you had been placed in. There was not a time where you desired a life filled with adventure, you had been content with your previous life, even if it was all a lie. Perhaps it was selfish of you to think such a way, but, how were you supposed to live knowing that a war was taking place? This war was like a never-ending wave that swallowed everything on its path, and it did not hold any mercy towards innocent people. They said you were strong, but were you? If so, then why did your heart beat harshly against your chest in fear? Perhaps you looked strong on the outside, maybe that was the case, but that was no different than those illusions created by Zexion."We cannot do such a thing." The strong voice of Rufus resonated through your eardrums, waking you from your thoughts. Shame, once again, you proved to yourself that they were wrong to believe that you would be able to put a stop to this war. Why were you even here? Why did they insist to have you present whenever these meetings took place?
For a mere second, their eyes shifted to your form as if expecting something from you. Once you glanced down at the table they continued with their conversation. What did they want? The blond male sighed before he took a seat, looking almost defeated. "If we allow more refugees to enter our kingdoms, we're going to doom them all. Our resources are limited, and are only enough to provide for those already under our protection."
Why couldn't you just...Be the person they described? You felt useless as you watched the Kings argue about the lives of troubled innocents. As if their lives depended on them, and perhaps that was the case. If they were not provided with protection and shelter, then were they guaranteed to survive? Their helplessness reflected on their gaze, their usual brightness and determined shine wasn't there anymore. They looked tired and torn emotionally.
Blinking rapidly, you placed both of your arms on the large table and covered your face. As much as your heart trembled in not only fear but sorrow, you could not cry, not here. That was the last thing that they needed.
Again, there was hesitation before they began to speak. "Even so, we must do something before any more innocent lives are taken. We have yet to understand what is happening within the walls of the Kingdom, the Tree of Might. Their people are not allowed to leave, and what is even more troubling is that they are accepting people in. They are promising protection, and shelter. However, once they enter, they are not allowed to leave." The black-haired Prince called Terra rubbed the sides of his head, just like the rest, he looked tired and exasperated.
"No matter, we have delayed what needs to be done." Caius rose from his seat, and although there was a hint of exhaustion on his eyes, he straightened up giving that strong aura. "I've agreed to wait, but that is no longer working. Starting today, I will gather my army and attack as soon as possible."
"It cannot be avoided, we'll be fighting at your side." Riku and Sora nodded to one another as they made their decision. There were several murmurs, but at the end they came to an agreement.
"[Name], what are your thoughts on this?" Ace questioned after he fought the other for silence.
Swallowing, not only the nervousness but as you swallowed, you needed to swallow all that self-pity. These people, your friends, had piles of their own issues to resolve and yet, they were worried for your wellbeing. But most of all, they were leaders and they were looking out for their people and even those that were seeking for protection and in exchange they were forgetting to take care of themselves. You needed to stop, you needed to gather something of the person they spoke about, of the [Name] that you once were. Your identity and memories were taken away from you, you could give up those things, but the person who took them from you was only causing chaos. Besides, her existence was the cause of your existence and it only made sense that you ended it. They were more than capable of finishing her off, but they wanted you to regain your essence, your persona.
