As you scanned the area, you could see people walking around or just talking to one another. Reno grabbed your hand and made the way to the exit of the kingdom as fast as the both of you could. There was some commotion coming from the cattle which only made you want to get out of this place. Usually, people would stop to stare at the two of you but once they heard all the noise going around, they turned to face that direction instead.
Upon stepping out of the kingdom, you released the air that you were holding. After hours of walking, you finally came to a stop. A growling coming from your and Reno’s stomach was the reason for stopping.
Reno looked very serious and he sighed.”I’ll go and find something to eat, stay hidden behind a tree.”
Without wanting to argue about you being able to take care of yourself, you shut your mouth. It was very stupid to leave with nothing to eat,drink and nothing to cover yourselves with. The night would come and cold as well, you just hoped that you wouldn’t catch a cold or something. The are in which you stood was filled with trees, bushes which would be enough to hide. A tall and wide tree caught your attention, so you walked toward it and leaned against it.
“Here, I think this will be enough for now.”Reno returned with a few berries and other fruits. It was enough for now and there would be plenty for at least another day. He sat down next your feet and patted the ground.
Sliding down the trunk, you smiled at him.”Thanks.”He didn’t smile back which only made you frown. At the moment you felt that it was your fault, if you hadn’t taken more time that it was planned then you would at least have more time to prepare and not leave like you did.”Reno..I’m sorry. I know it’s my fault...” Punching the ground you cursed.”Damn it, I shouldn’t have taken me that long. I...” you began but Reno made no attempt of stopping you or telling you that it wasn’t your fault. The hunger was forgotten, you simply couldn’t eat knowing that his mother would most likely take blame after they found out who had robbed the crown. Your mother wasn’t really your concern at the moment, yes, you knew that she would also be looked down upon but at least she was used to it. The kingdom-specially neighbors- knew who you were, a thief but Reno wasn’t known for that.
Silence ruled over the journey. Reno hadn’t said nor talked about the situation other than ‘I’ll get some water’ or ‘let’s eat something’ and that only made you feel even worse. During the nights, he didn’t stay close, he was upset and he simply didn’t want to listen to you.
It was a late night when you finally arrived. The filth in your clothing and the dirty faces of you and Reno made those still out frown. They whispered and glared in disgust, you paid no attention. You were very tired, you nor Reno were able to sleep well.Reno walked as if he knew the way he was following. You didn’t, you have never left your kingdom which was quite sad, your visit to this kingdom wasn’t exactly for exploring.
A medium size homes into view, just from the outside of the house it seems that it belongs to someone that earns a well amount of money, compared to the rest. Reno watches it and knocks on the door waiting from someone to open it. Soon enough, a built, bald head man opened the door. He glanced to Reno and raised an eyebrow.
“We need your help, Rude.”
Rude opened the door staring at your form while you entered.Reno took a seat and so did you. Usually, you would smile or make remarks but not at this very moment. The situation wasn’t really what got you so dull, it was that Reno had to leave behind his mother because of your stupidity.
“Rude, do you have a room in which [Name] can stay?” Reno asked and you noticed that even his talking has changed. Said man nodded and motioned for you to follow him. Without question and merely glancing at Reno, you trailed behind Rude. You were lead to a small room which only had a small bed, there wasn’t nothing special about it. You entered and without given more options, you decided that it would be best to rest for the night. Since most of the past days you were unable to rest, you felt like crap and maybe a night’s rest would be enough to clear up your mind. Tomorrow you would try to talk to Reno and fix things up, if possible that is.
Next afternoon, you woke up and the rest actually did wonders on you. Stretching your arms and legs, you exited the room and you were expecting Reno to be around, but he wasn’t. The house seemed to be empty, there was no-one in the house.
Your stomach grumbled and you couldn’t help but glance around. Grabbing food from someone that you helped you wasn’t what you had in mind, even a thief had dignity and respect for those who provided help. While you tried to debate on whether eating some of the food of this house, your legs carried you to the kitchen. The kitchen was of a medium size and the table wasn’t as big as you thought it would be. It was for only about two to three people. At the middle of the table, a basket full of apples glared at you,tempting you.
The growling of your stomach made the final decision, so you grabbed an apple and sank your teeth on the flesh and ripped a chunk of the apple. The sweet flavor was too intoxicating and in a moment, you ate the whole apple. One apple wasn’te enough so your grabbed another one and devoured it. Just after chewing the remaining of the second apple, someone arrived. They must have heard you or they were hungry for they headed straight to the kitchen.
It was none other than Reno, who stopped just when he noticed you. By now you were well aware that he didn’t want to talk to you so you just were about to walk past him when he stopped you.”Wait,we need to talk.”You would have just walked away but you knew better, things couldn’t go the way they were.
You stood there and didn’t have the strength to look him in the eye, you felt guilty to know that he was here because you were unable to get the job fast.”I’m So-” you were about to apologize about everything when he shook his head.
“If someone is going to be apologizing, it should be me. I acted like an ass, it was me who decided to come with you, you have no fault.” He then paused.”As for what happened, it wasn’t your fault either, things don’t always go as planned.” Now you glanced at him but if things were back to normal, then something else was going on, you could tell by the serious face.”They’re here, Rude can’t keep us here since he protects King Rufus Shinra. If they find out that we are here then he’s going to get into so much trouble. I’ll go out and buy what we need, but you need to stay put and be here.”
Well, that was more than cleared. There was something that you simply couldn’t do and that was to stay here and see how they’ll find your location and get Reno, and Rude in trouble. It didn’t take too much thinking to see that you needed to get out of this place fast, even if you had to do it alone. Reno was too kind to help you and even risk it all but you couldn’t do anymore. Sure you all were on this but Reno had his mother to take care of. Frowning, you went back to the room you were sleeping at and search for anything until you found a bag. You looked around and you noticed a few clothing, men clothing to be exact. It was a bit too big but it was better than nothing. You changed into a pair of pants, and cloak which had a hood. You covered your head with said hood and headed to the kitchen, where you raised it and grabbed some food for the journey.
With everything that you needed, you searched for something to write on.

Reno, guess what? I’m leaving you and I’m taking it all! Haha, naw just kidding. I just wanted to let you know that I am leaving but it’s because I can’t stand making you risk it all, your mother needs you and I can’t just stand there and watch you get dragged down with me. I’m leaving and I’m not telling you where because even i don’t know. If I manage to finish what I-and you know what I’m talking about- started then I’ll return and will be fair. Now since it’s...rather not safe I rather go and it’ll only be me, not you. Take care of mom will you? Take care and tell the other two that I will return whether on my own will or not, I’ll go back. Anyway, as you know I’m not great with goodbyes so yeah...take care.
You wrote the note not leaving anything about why you were leaving, you didn’t even signed the note since they’ll probably gotten the information on you so it was not good of leaving anything that linked you to Reno. You took these precautions just in case they found the note or something. With that, you smiled sourly and headed to the exit. Once you were in-front of the door, you opened it and once you were out site, you turned your head right, left and up ahead to make sure there were no guards. Once that was cleared, you moved fast to the exit of the kingdom, since there was only one, the one that was used since you didn’t know if they had a secret one. As you run, your heart beat increased not from the jogging but because you were nervous.
