It's been half an hour and I'm panicking. I found my bat and was holding onto it for dear life. I was stupid and forgot to get the flashlights out. Damn it!!!

I seriously was on the verge of tears when I saw a shadow outside. I flipped out and held onto the bat even tighter.

Then the doorbell rang. I couldn't breathe. I slowly crept to answer it. I looked out the little peep whole and no one was there.

I panicked for a second. I went back to the couch without taking my eyes off the door.

Then someone knocked. I muffled a scream. I went to the door and slowly opened it.

"Hello?" I said shakily.

Just then someone jumped out from behind the bush yelling and I screamed bloody murder and ran back inside slamming the door.

I was crying at that point I was so scared. Then there was a light tap at the door. "Brooke? Are you okay? I'm sorry."

I went and swung open the door and flung myself at him. Then I released him and slapped him right across the face. "Okay I deserved that."

"What's wrong with you?!"

"I'm sorry! It was just too irresistible."

I wiped a tear. "It wasn't nice."

"I'm so sorry Brooke! I didn't know it would scare you that much! Please forgive me!"

"I'll forgive you if you stay with me tonight."

"Definitely! I came prepared!"

He walked inside with a backpack. He sat on the couch and I joined him. "Here we have flashlights." He said pulling them out. "And a portable DVD player! With extra batteries!"

"That's awesome!"

"Yeah I know."

We set it up and put a movie in. He wrapped his arms around me and we watched the movie together. About halfway through he pulled my lips onto his. He traced my bottom lip requesting access and I willingly gave it to him. He was on top of me with his hands in my hair. My arms were around his neck.

After a while I stopped him, "Wait! I have a question."

He looked down at me, "What?"

"How did you know to come?"

"Well you told everyone your sister was gone for the weekend and you'd be alone and I knew there was a storm coming in so I got some things ready just in case then the power went out so I got some stuff and came over here."

"Oh. Wow. You listened?"

"Yeah, I may be an ass, but I'm a good boyfriend."

"Yeah you are." I pulled his lips onto mine again.

After a while we were just talking. I started flipping out again when I heard a sound.

"Brooke calm down it's okay."

"But what if someone is going to break in?!"

"Listen the dark isn't that bad."

"Well what's good about it?"

"Well it obviously makes it easier to sleep."

"That doesn't matter."

He thought for a second. "Well usually making out in the dark is better." I hit him in the shoulder.

"What?! It's true! I'll prove it." He started kissing me again and I had to admit now that I thought about it, kissing in the dark is better.
