"Ashton can you come help me?!" I was putting a picture up and I dropped the hammer.
"Coming!" He yelled from down the hall. We were at our new apartment and I was decorating while everyone else moved stuff in. We had the whole troop helping. Even little Ally was placing stuff here and there.
"I dropped the hammer."
Ashton grabbed it and reached over me and put the picture up. It was our wedding picture or him holding me bridal style and us both laughing. I liked that one better than the formal one. I thought it would look best in the bedroom. He placed his hand on my shoulder and we both smiled.
Our apartment had two bedrooms, one bathroom, and office, and a living room connected to a kitchen. I was busy going from room to room directing where everything needed to go. Our apartment was about two blocks from the school which was unbelievably perfect. I can't love our parents much more than I do right now.
I was hanging curtains, making beds, dusting, unloading boxes of kitchen ware, and moving around furniture, all with the help of my posse.
We got most of it done by four. Ashton and I collapsed onto our couch in satisfaction. The school we were at was about four or five hours from our parents.
We all ate dinner together in my new kitchen and then they had to leave.
Before they left though Monica approached me. "So how was your honeymoon?"
"It was fantastic!"
"Really? So you have no doubts about this marriage?"
"None at all."
"Even though he slept with so many girls before?"
I looked at her disgusted. "Monica! Why the hell would you say that?!"
"I'm just making sure."
"You know the fact that we spent almost every moment we could together proves that whatever he did in his past was his past. He's my future and I'm his."
"I just don't want you to regret anything."
"Why would you talk to me about this now? Shouldn't you say all this before the wedding?"
"If you're sure."
"I love him. He's my husband."
"Okay. I personally like him. I just want to make sure you're in this for the long run."
"I am."
"Bye step sis. I'll miss ya."
I couldn't help but smile. "Believe it or not, I will miss you too."
I gave her a hug and she left with everyone.
Finally everyone was gone and we had our own apartment. It was a big step. Our parents promised to help us pay, but we did have to get a part-time job. But at the same time they want us to focus on school and they know that's going to be even more difficult being a newly married couple.
When everyone was gone I was finishing loading the dishwasher when Ashton came up to me from behind and wrapped his arms around me. "Are you happy?"
"Very." I said, shutting the dishwasher.
"Good. That's all I want."
"My sister asked the most awkward question today."
"Really? What was it?"
"Well she asked me if I had fun on my honeymoon and naturally I said yes. Then she asked if I had any doubts about this marriage. I said no. Then she asked 'even though he's slept with so many other girls before?' That's when I got mad at her."
