You sat around the fire with some of the recruits and  listened as they told jokes and stories of their lives before everything. Octavia was back towards your tent, most likely watching you with them, she was always watching you, whether it be you training with Clarke or walking around the forests with the recruits. You didn't mind the talking much, but the feeling of Octavia's eyes on you made you nervous. You'd had a crush on her since her ship landed and Lexa made you join them as part of a peace thing, surprisingly not against Anya's wishes.

It hurt to think of Anya, which was why you tended not to. She was your big sister, kind of, you were found orphaned in the woods after your parents were killed by some beast in the woods. They were looking for you and if you hadn't have ran away from your problems, you'd be making sure your people didn't get slaughtered. Anya and Lexa had made sure you were safe and didn't die for the next, well until Lexa found it in her interests to give you to the privileged savages.

"I can't wait until our next tour." One of the recruits said and you nodded. "I hear we're hunting for food." This was a trip you were dreading ad Octavia knew, hence why she'd attempted to steer everybody away from it. Octavia was different from everybody else, she didn't always try to hide the fact she was a savage. She owned it and at the same time was a fragile little girl, just like Anya had occasionally let yourself be.

"I hear there are beasts big enough to kill entire villages." One of them said and you tried not to say anything. "Actually, there's a rumor one actually did."

"Really?" Octavia asked sitting down beside you. "Then tell me." Octavia had heard the story once before, but never the true version, never the part where you were the survivor, you had started the problem, and you had defeated the beast somehow.

"There was this tribe, supposed to be located somewhere around here. The head of the tribe had a son, but he wasn't like them, he was magical or something. Well, he likes a girl, she didn't like him back so he ran away into those woods. Eventually, the leader started a search party and they ventured into the woods, but they met a great beast that slaughtered them all. They say the boy died in there, but I heard he still lives in there, slaughtering all who venture too deep." The brown haired recruit said and you tried to keep a straight face.

"Bullshit." You said and everybody looked at you. "That's not what happened, trust me." You spat out before walking to your tent. Octavia didn't follow you that night, but Clarke did. She didn't say anything, she had probably heard from Lexa about all the crap you'd taken from your clan. Eventually you fell asleep, Clarke left, and Octavia had kept her distance for the majority of the next morning. You walked with the group further into the woods, remembering every single thing you'd done in your time here alone.

"Whoa, this is awesome." One of Bellamy's trainees said and you tried not to punch anything. That's what you and Octavia had in common, you both had tempers. You remembered seeing her fight, the anger fueling her moves like a true warrior, letting passion control the fight.

"Stop staring you look creepy." Clarke said and you looked at you feet. The recruits had ventured farther into the woods and the closer you got to the graves, the more your anxiety grew. You were feet from the bones of the beast and the makeshift graves Anya and Lexa helped you make. Somebody tripped over a bone and onto your first love's grave, smashing it.

"Are you okay?" Octavia asked helping him up. Something in you snapped as soon as you noticed the broken grave. You pushed the recruit against the tree and knocked him out cold. As he fell the the ground, you jumped on him and repeatedly punched him until his face was broken. Octavia and Clarke pulled you off of him and you realized how much damage he'd actually taken.

You peacefully fixed the grave before running deep into the forest, where your parents had been buried. After a couple of hours of being alone, you heard footsteps behind you. You turned to see Octavia. She was sad, almost worried looking with some scratches on her body.

"What happened back there?" Octavia asked and you shrugged. "Y/N I have to know because I care about you and we have to know we can trust you."

"It only concerns the dead now." You said and Octavia stared at you. "Octavia, I don't want you to think of me that way."

"What way?" Octavia asked and you retold the story, st least how you remembered it and you told her about what you did wit Lexa and Anya.

"She is to be executed." Your father yelled and you couldn't help but feel like if you'd been born different she wouldn't be in this position. She wouldn't be fearing for her own life, but accepted and not guilty of loving a monster like her. You were part of the only tribe that didn't accept people for what they were, it was either banishment, execution, or conformity.

"Remember I love you." She said kissing you softly. You watched in horror as her head was cut from her body and her remains left in the middle of the woods. It was painful to see her body, so limp and lifeless, when before it was so full of energy and wonder. You shouldn't have seen her body like this, it was both a warning and a punishment. A warning of what would happen if anybody found out that you were like her and a punishment for loving somebody other than the boy your parents had picked for you.

"Y/N, come back." Your father said and you ran off. Not caring if they chased and killed you. You'd been out there for days before you saw the first sign of somebody from your tribe looking for you. It was your father and with him came everybody else, all those people you could have saved if you hadn't called upon that beast to slaughter them for killing your love. It wasn't right and within seconds you realized what you'd done to your family, the people you at one point called friends. You realized that you could no longer see your beloved, it could have been stopped if you hadn't ran away and they'd listened to you about your power and hers.

"I'm so sorry Y/N." Octavia said and it was the first time that somebody had actually heard your story without running away. Neither Anya nor Lexa could say that they'd heard the truth from your lips. No, they had to speak to the dead for that and even then, it was chalked full of lies to make you seem less like a psychopath.
