AN: Idea comes from a totally badass Volbeat song.

The heat scorched your skin as you walked back into your place of business. Taking care of particularly rowdy customers was always unpleasant, but the heat wave wasn't making anything easier. You walked back to your washroom to clean yourself up a bit before changing into a dress that wasn't stained with blood before returning to the bar to see what may have been the best sight your eyes ever managed to land on.

"How exactly may I help you ma'am?" You asked and the girl behind the hat chuckled. "There's got to be something here that you've got an interest in."

"No thank you ma'am." She said and looked at her in disbelief.

"A lonesome rider like yourself surely hasn't had much of warm bed lately. I'm sure one of my girls would take good care of you." You said, your finger making a little trail on her arm. "And if that's not really your taste or speed, I've got drinks, food, and later a show."

"While I haven't had much of a warm bed or any bed for that matter, I'm not sure that your girls really interest me right now." She said, staring into your eyes. "However, I am sure that the man I am looking for is in here."

"Perhaps." You said, allowing her to look around. Eventually you saw her drag one of your more problematic, but paying customers down the stairs before giving you a smile. "After I receive his payment, you can do what you want with him. I'd prefer you do your business out back though."

"All yours." She said, tossing you his wallet. You took out the money and counted it as she took him out back. You faintly heard the killing shot over the piano you had playing and soon after she walked back in, blood staining her boots. "Is there a place I can wash up?"

"Room towards the back." You said, pointing just past your office. You waited for her outside of the door, kicking the door to your office open once she walked out. "Let's talk."

"Okay." She said, following you. She took a seat on the smaller couch across from the bigger one you sat in. You offered her a glass of whiskey before pouring yourself one. "Thank you ma'am."

"No problem, now to talk over your balance here." You said, setting a wad of cash on the table. "I am not a thief, so I decided the extra money should go into your tab. You being a, what was the term I used earlier, lonesome rider?"

"I believe so." She said, flipping through the money.

"I don't see somebody of your nature sticking around long enough to use up that money or coming back." You said and she raised an eyebrow at you. "Unless of course, you'd like to maybe stick around for a bit?"

"That's not really my nature as you put it earlier, but I could see myself coming back if there's promising company." She said and you smirked at her. "Can I acquire company other than your girls for a night or two?"

"I regret to inform you I am not for sale." You said, downing your whiskey and pouring another. "But if you promise to come back, I'll wait for you. Even if it's just for one night."

"I'll be back, I promise." She said. You somehow knew that when she walked out that door it wasn't going to be the end of whatever you had. There was a chemistry there that you'd never felt with anybody else and even if it wasn't love, you knew that if she felt it too, she'd come back to you more than once.
