"Come on, Kendall. You're going to be late for your first day of senior year." Toni said to her seventeen year old stepdaughter. Kendall is your average teenager, a senior in high school, captain of her cheerleading team, and president of her student council.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Kendall said walking down the stairs. Her stepmother, Toni Braxton, is a GRAMMY-award winning singer, who has touched millions of lives, by her powerful and unique voice. She's married the man who started her career. Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds has been married twice. In his first marriage, he was blessed with his only child, Kendall. His second marriage, he's hasn't been given any children. Toni has done everything in order to have a baby.

"Bye, Daddy." Kendall said kissing her father's cheek. He took out his wallet and gave Kendall a $50 bill for allowance. She hugged him and she left the house. Toni has been driving Kendall to school, everyday for the past year.

"Toni, will you and my dad ever have children?" Kendall asked while texting her best friend, Alecia.

"We've been trying, and trying, and trying for the longest but I haven't gotten pregnant. I would like to have a baby." Toni said. Kendall puts down her phone and looks at Toni while she stops the stoplight.

"What?" Toni laughed. Kendall use to hate Toni's guts when she was younger.

"I really like you Toni, I do. I may seem standoffish, but you're family and I enjoy you making my dad happy. Most stepdaughters hate their stepparent, but I'm glad you have my daddy and me. I'm hoping we'll be celebrating the baby's birth soon. Thanks Toni, see you later." Kendall said. She walked out the car and headed to school.
