(Draco's P.O.V.)

Humming slightly, I headed out of my room and started down the stairs to the kitchen. All of a sudden, the front door opened and in walked a stranger, a cute one at that.

My bath robe immediately became incredibly hot. I wanted to bolt to my room and change quickly for the guest but she just stood there, pinning me to my spot on the stairs, yet she didn't notice me at all.

She looked to her left and spotted our grand fireplace that was lit. Looking like a zombie, she approached it and sat down in the armchair, curled up in a ball, and sobbed loudly, her sniffles carrying throughout the hall.

Without a second thought, I continued down the stairs to see if she would notice me. She never did.

"Bloody hell, this woman is worked up over something," I thought.

I lightly brushed past her and sat down on a couch next to her armchair. Her head shot up and looked around wildly before her gaze finally settled on me.

"Malfoy?"

"Granger?"

"What are you doing here?"

I shook my head with my famous smirk playing my lips. "Well, considering that this is my home and you just barged in, I think I should be the one asking that question."

Man, was this woman a mess. Her bloodshot eyes stood out against her pail cheeks and pink nose, all curtained by her now flat and soaking wet brown hair. Her clothes caked in mud, trailing from the door to where she was now.

She blushed and looked everywhere but me. "Oh sorry..."

"So why are you here beaver?" I even surprised myself when I answered her like that. I had just called her that so many times in school, it just stuck.

"Oh ummm... No reason..."

"Oh so you just barge into people's homes and come sit by their fireplace while crying your eyes out?"

She laughed a little and sighed heavily. "I've just been having a rough time."

"Yeah, me too." I surprised myself again. What was this woman doing to me? All of a sudden she walks in and I'm already treating her like scum yet telling her things she shouldn't know.

She eyed my carefully. "I don't know... It's just that Ron just broke up with me so-"

I gaped at her. "Wait, Weasel? Broke up with you? You gotta be kidding!"

Her soft, tender state immediately turned into a hard cruel one that was always ready for a counter attack, so well developed because of me. "No, I'm not. At least my relationship was real, unlike yours and Astoria's. Now will you please leave me alone." She got up and started to leave.

I laughed, feeling crushed inside. "Ouch, Granger. Still after all these years, still the insufferable know it all."

She still kept walking toward the door and I regretted saying that. "Hey Mione, I didn't say you could leave."

She stopped, rethinking what she was doing. "Where do you have to go anyway?"

Almost into tears again, she murmured, "I... I don't know..." "You know, it is kinda lonely in this mansion all by myself. Would you like to stay for a couple of days?"

Before she could respond, Scorpius my son, came down the stairs asking for mommie. "Son, I don't know, maybe she went out in the garden to pick some more flowers-" "But I already looked there! And I can't find her anywhere!"

I looked at Hermione, just staring at Scorpius. Apparently she didn't know I had a son. "Oh, Granger this is my son Scorpius, can you say hi?" "Hi," my son said timidly, he was always nervous around guests because we had so many.

"Hello," she said politely, beaming and waving slightly at him. He ran down the rest of the stairs and took cover behind me, immediately forgetting about Astoria.

"So," I turned to Hermione, "do you want to stay?"

Her gazed turned from me to Scorpius to the door then back to me. "I don't want to be a bother..."

I laughed. "Oh Granger! I own the largest company in the world, the largest mansion in the country and you think you will be a bother?"

She sighed, "You are still that arrogant pinhead. I guess I can stay..."

I beamed and immediately turned to Scorpius, trying to figure where Astoria had gone. Hermione offered to help us search for her. This was the third time this month that this has happened, and in the end we never really found her, she just came waltzing into the house.

For hours we searched around my giant mansion, checking very door, every closet. Defeated, we went to the dining hall to eat dinner. The house elves scurried around our feet, trying to prepare our feast before I could say a word.

Scorpius plopped down next to my seat at the end of our long, antique table. Hermione made her way to the other side of Scorpius. I stopped her, pulling out her seat for her, bowing slightly. She giggled and sat gracefully, her bushy hair brushing the tip of my nose. Her scent of violet blossoms taking over my mind, bringing back the memories like a tidal wave.
