Draco’s POV

“HERMIONE!” I yelled into the thick atmosphere. My mansion was quite gloomy and it was well past midnight so I figured she would be there by then. Silence was only there to greet me. I longed to see her face and to tell her what happened.

Scorpius’ head was perched on my shoulder, swinging violently enough to wake him up. Slowly I climbed up the stairs and headed to his room. Upon opening the door, the little blue Orb squeaked and rushed over to us, as though it missed him. I set down my son down on his comforter, watching his little eyelids flutter. So pure, so innocent.

Right then my heart broke. How could I bring myself to do this to my son? So right then, I made a promise. A promise to him. I lay my head next to his slowly breathing chest and shakily whispered, “I promise I will not raise you like my parents did. I will not let you go through the things I have, I won’t let you hurt like I was. You will grow up to be a proud man of the Malfoy’s. You will redeem us son, I just know it. I promise. I promise… I promise…”

Silently, just like the rest of my house, I crawled out of Scorpius’ room for getting up was much too loud. Hearing the door softly click against the frame I rested against the wall. I needed sleep and I needed it badly but somehow I knew, none was going to come tonight. But one and only one thing was poised in my mind, where was Hermione.

Hermione’s POV

The Weasley’s laughed loudly at a joke presented by George and I have to admit, I giggled a little bit too. We were all still at the Leaky Cauldron and apparently the last people here, which seemed to annoy the people who worked here. Finally one of the managers came and ushered us out seeming very angry. We gathered our things and quietly walked down the lit streets of Diagon Alley.

“Hermione, we should meet again,” said Harry from behind.

“Yeah… we should…” I answered quietly.

“Look Hermione. I know something has happened between you and Ron. And I know it isn’t good.” We both cast a glance at Ron, who arguing heatedly with Ginny about who knows what. He looked around us to make sure we were alone. “I just want to make sure everything is alright.”

“I’m fine Harry really!”

“Ha. I remember the first time you told me and Ron that. Then later we found out you were a cat.” We both laughed at my embarrassing moment.

“True but I promise you Harry, I am completely fine. It’s just these past few days have been confusing for me, thinking a lot of things over.”

“How so?” He asked innocently, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he stared at the ground.

I sighed. “I… It… I-It’s complicated really.”

“No, please tell me Mione. C’mon! When was the last time you couldn’t trust me with a little secret?” A slight grin lit up his face as he stood only a foot in front of me.

Trying not to yell at him to mind his own business, I sighed once again. “Ok… Umm, so… Ron broke up with me the other day-”

“HE DID WHAT?!”
