"I've never seen any life transformation that didn't begin with the person in question finally getting tired of their own shit"

Veronica's POV:-

"Was i really that much of problem for you even while living alone in this mansion like some outcast." This broke him from his work trans and he looked up startled to see me.

"Wha-Ver-Veronica you're back? Aaron said yo-you would come back two days later?" He asked standing up. The look in his eyes would somewhat be described as 'a deer caught in the headlights'

I looked like roadkill that was obvious. I was wearing the same dress that i wore at the party. My hair was a mess and the makeup had just come off on my hands when i rubbed my eyes.

While at the airport and during the flight i had gotten weird glances from people. But i was too pumped up to even give two thoughts to appearance.

"Why was i never good enough for you? Why did you always have this look in your eyes that never seemed satisfied dad?" i walked forward placing my palms on his desk.

"What is wrong? where is Aaron and what happened to you?" It was unbelievable how he could look in my eyes bearing parental strictness after all that he had done. His voice was stern enough that it would have made me answer anything to him before i knew what he had done.

Why does he not feel any regret? How can he face me so easily?

"How can you look in my eyes and not see what is wrong? You know it's useless telling you anything or asking you anything because you seem like whatever you do is always right. You never asked me for anything you only gave me an order that i had to follow like some dog" i straightened back and walked out of the study into the living room.

That was immature and downright bratty. To walk out with attitude like some rich bitch throwing a tantrum, but what else was i suppose to do. I had run out of sophistication and manner or discipline.

My life was right in front of a portal just a leap into happiness, but my own father closed that door right in front of my eyes and i was too blind to see it.

"Brenda!! James!!!" My shouting was the only sound in the huge mansion. Another one of the blindfolds my father put on my eyes. Or it was probably a wall, he could hide his doings behind.

"Young lady stop right there and answer me! What is going on? What has gotten you in such a mood?" I laughed bitterly at him.

"My mood. Wao You have no clue what happened, right?......Lets start with how YOU FUCKING SOLD ME TO AARON FLYNN!!!! Ring a bell!" Realization framed his face and his horrified eyes met mine.

"Oh no honey you have to hear me out please! ju-" He seemed to be having an internal fight before i cut him off rather harshly.

He was halfway through to me and i stopped him. I did something that i never imagined to do. I stopped my father from coming near me.

"NO!! You have nothing left to explain!! what will you say thats going to change my reality 'father' are you going to tell me how much that stupid contract meant to you, or or how you had faith in me to follow through the rules of that contract, perfectly, without me knowing about it. Bullshit!!"

"I was barely an issue for you. Out of sight out of mind was not enough for you? Why do you hate me so much"

Suddenly all the activities of the day were burdening me and i took support form the couch kicking my heels off. Defeated, brought down, were the only words that rang around me. I was literally brought down by my own parent.
