Voice in my head

Oh dear
What a silly little girl you are...
Intrigued by the future, curious about the people
But aren't you a bit too excited?
You know what happens, I mean we've been through this before
Days passing by is just the count down until well something bad happens again
The people you're so happy to meet are just the people that'll leave and walk right out that door
So why don't you calm down
You'll get hurt again, oh you'll fall
This world is so harsh, are you ready to face more?
Then again I'm just the voice in your head
Listen to heart is what I should say, but then again....
Thats what gets you hurt so often right?
And when you look in the mirror that's what gets you insecure so often
But I must ask you, does editing yourself out of pictures make you feel better?
Does reminiscing on the past change what has happened?
When you think back to what you could've done does it fade the scars on your skin?
And most of all when you read that letter, does it change what you tried that night?
But again I must say, who am I to ask you these things?
Cause you can block me out, after all I'm just the voice in your head
