When I Call Your Name

  Weeks have went by with no change in Lindsey's condition. Ruthelda and Jeff have returned to Atherton. They are coming up on the weekends with Greg to see Lindsey.

  Stevie comes by every afternoon and sits holding Lindsey's hand. She tells him about the rapidly growing baby inside her that belongs to them both.

  Stevie is seeing a drug abuse counselor. Her recovery is going well with no setbacks. She is determined to be healthy for her child.

  It's the 1st week of May 1982. Lindsey has been in a coma for almost five months. Stevie is sitting in Lindsey's private room at the hospital. She is six months pregnant. Stevie has Lindsey's hand on her belly hoping he can feel their baby kick. She says to him

  "Ive been thinking of names for our baby!"

  "How about Robert Lindsey  if we have a boy or Wendy Michelle  if its a girl."

  Just then Stevie feels another kick. She says

  "Well I guess out baby agrees!"

  Stevie sits with Lindsey's hand on her stomach with her hand over his. She thinks back to the last time she was pregnant.

  1977

  Stevie has just arrived home after the Japanese leg of the Rumours tour. She has been sick, throwing up every day for a month. She thinks that maybe from seeing Lindsey and Carol Ann all over each other constantly. What does he see in her?

  Stevie is waiting for Don to call. The Eagles are on tour also, they are playing in Houston tonight.

  She has been seeing Don for about a year. He is much different than Lindsey. Don loves the finer things in life. That ranges from opulent hotel rooms, luxurious cars, fine dining and drink etc..Lindsey Buckingham is happy with a pizza and a beer.

  Stevie can go weeks without seeing Don, she comes and goes as she pleases. With Lindsey he wanted to be around her night and day.

  She certainly has her breathing room. But somehow she feels empty. Don is a fine lover but he doesn't have the passion of Lindsey. No one does.

  The phone rings breaking her from her thoughts. It's Don. He says he will be there in a couple of days before flying out to the next concert venue. Stevie tells him she loves him and he hangs up.

  Another wave of nausea hits and she runs for the bathroom. Afterward Stevie calls Robin and asks her to go to the store for her a pick her up a couple items. Stevie has a suspicion of what could be wrong.

  Robin has came by and brought Stevie the items. She follows the directions on the box. Stevie and Robin wait the required time. Stevie says to Robin

  "You look, I'm too afraid too!"

  Robin checks both tests. She turns to Stevie and says

  "Positive...congratulations your going to be a mom!"

  The best friends hug and then Stevie starts crying. Robin asks her

  "What's wrong Stevie?"

  Stevie responds

  "Me and Don never talked about starting a family, I hope he's happy about this!"

  "I'm hoping he asks me to marry him!"

  Robin asks Stevie

  "Do you have any baby names in mind?"

  Stevie replies

  "I just know it's a girl and her name will be Sara!"

  Present day

  Stevie smiles as she remembers finding out she was pregnant. She was so sure Don would want to marry her and they would make a family.
