Chapter 9 - Take Care

I wake up next to Sasuke with my head on his chest. I bolt up and stand. I start to blush and walk over to a tree. I was sleeping next to Sasuke. I see Kuruma walk over to me and I smile at him. He sits down and smiles back.

"When did you wake up"

"Um a few seconds ago"

He nods and looks out into the forest. I sit next to him and lock my hands in my lap. We sit there for a bit until I stand up.

"We should get going"

"Yeah"

I walk over to Sasuke and tap him making him jump at me. He grabs my wrist and looks around before letting go.

"Are you okay Sasuke"

"Um, yeah"

"We need to pack up and go"

He nods and stands up, I grab my bag and we clean up the bonfire. We all gather and begin to walk. I follow behind them not knowing were I'm going.

"Guys what are we to do on this mission"

"We have to get a scroll for Oroshimaru, he needs it for more jutsu, its in an abandoned village far from here"

I nod and begin to look at the scenery. Kuruma follows next to me and pokes me.

"Your special to this mission you know"

"Really for what"

"I don't really know. In was told to tag along because I need to watch out for you and Sasuke and I'm to heal any injury's"

I smile at him.

"Thanks Kuruma, your so sweet"

He nudges me and makes me laugh as we continue to walk.

~~TIME SKIP~~

We aproche a volcano and I slow down. The head is a little to much. We walk along a path and enter a building.

"This is such an easy mission"

I look at Kuruma while he laughs and I stop him.

"Guys there's chakra senses near by be careful"

Kuruma scratches his head and falls to the ground. I turn around and see gooey creature on him. I kick it off of him sending it through a wall as it pops up. I activate my sharingan and run to the creature. I take my kunai and stab it but nothing. One jumps on top of my back sending me to the ground. Sasuke pulls it off of me and uses his Katana to slice off the head.

"We need to remove there heads or they will still move"

I sigh

"So were fighting gooey zombies. Great"

I kick one away from me and use my wind manipulation jutsu and slice off two of the monsters heads. We continue to make our way down the path when Kuruma steps on a plate and the floor moves. I push him aside and almost fall into the lava pit. Sasuke runs over to us and helps me up yelling at Kuruma.

"Stop fooling around and focus, Shizuka almost died saving you"

Kuruma mopes his head to the ground and nods. I pat myself off and we continue down the series of hallways. We enter a room and I see the scroll with a justu lock on it I walk over to it and read it until monster just pop up out of the ground.

"Sasuke kill them I'll get the scroll"

He nods and I read what the lock says.

"Only to receive you must give a rare gift"

I think of what it could mean. I rememer my sharingan. I use clone jutsu and clone four of me and thank my hand I use my sharingan and I look at it.

"The summoning of a great animal may you revive a great scroll"

I use my summoning justu and summon the tiger. The tiger doesn't pop up but the scroll unlocks. I grab the scroll and walk up to Sasuke as all of the monsters disapear.

"We need to hurry out"

I grab Sasuke and Kurumas hands and we run out of the building before it collapses. I wipe my forehead and sit down. On my way out I hurt my ankle and I can't put any pressure on my leg.

"Shizuka your hurt"

Kuruma kneels down next to me grabbing Sasuke attention. Kuruma begins to heal my foot while I sit there. When he finishes he stands up and Sasuke helps me up.

"You won't be able to put pressure on it for a while"

"How will I walk then"

"I'll carry you"

I look over to Sasuke who is now picking me up.

"Are you sure"

He nods and throws me on his back. I throw my arms over his shoulder and he starts to walk. We stop when dusk starts to hit and he sets me down on a patch of grass.

"I'll be back I'm gonna grab wood"

I nod and Kuruma sits next to me.

"Isn't it weird to you how Sasuke is acting"

I nod

"Be careful he might want you for power like I said. You never know with him"

I nod again and Sasuke walks back. He glares at Kuruma and makes the fire using fire justu to start the fire. He sits down across from me and in stand up to go walk by a little pond.

"Shizuka were are you going your not supposed to walk"

"I'll be fine"

I walk to the pond far enough to were they can't see me and I start to meditate. After what felt like an hour I hear someone walking twards me, I stand up and turn around activating my sharingan. I see Itachi and lower my gaurd.

"What do you want Itachi"

"Oh your still alive. Well I would have guessed since Sasuke is too"

He nudges over to the fire light through the trees.

"Why are you here"

"Me and Kuruma are on a mission how are you and Shio"

"Don't mention him"

"Oh I can see he's gone now. Such a shame, it took me forever to grab his soul"

I roll my eyes and Itachi steps closer.

"Just, make sure you take care of my brother. He can be stupid some times and you need him"

"What do you mean"

"Your future is as bright as day your gonna need each other later, don't let him leave or get hurt"

I nod and he poofs away. My future is as bright as day? What does he mean by that. Sasuke walks from were we are camping tonight.

"Are you okay you've been over here for two hours"

I nod and follow him to the fire and sit down. Kuruma smiles at me and I smile back. I stare at the fire and lay down falling asleep. Take care of Sasuke huh. He seems to take care of me mostly.
