"Welcome home Sir Nico! Hello Alice! Good evening po Sir Maj." Masaya kong bati. Akalain mong nandito si Sir Maj ngayon.
"Good evening Kyra. How was your work?"
"Ayos na ayos po!" Abot tenga ang ngiti ko.
"Wow!" Napalingon ako kay Nico. Pinagmamasdan nya ang buong paligid. "Marunong ka pala maglinis."
"Syempre naman Sir. Kaya nga nyo ako maid diba?" Mejo nakaka-offend sya ah pero totoo naman na hindi ako marunong maglinis. Actually, pinalinis ko lang 'to.
"So I assumed that you know how to cook as well?"
Hala sya! "Hindi ko po masisigurado yan."Alanganin akong napangiti. Siguro kung wala sila dito baka makapagpa-deliver pa ako.
"I guess I should be the one who'll cook while you change Alice's clothes."
Isinama ko na sa kwarto si Alice. Mejo madungis pero kaya ko to. Pinaliguan ko muna siya. Sa tub nya gustong maligo kaya hinayaan ko muna siyang maglaro ng bubbles.
"Fairy godmother are you really a fairy?" She asked out of the blue.
"The truth is I'm not a fairy."
"Then who are you? Are you the wicked stepmother? Are you going to marry my Dad? Is my Dad going to leave me?"
Sunod-sunod yung tanong nya. Napailing ako. Kasalanan 'to ng mga fairytale stories.
"Alice, I live here because I am your new yaya. And I am not going---"
"Yaya? You're a witch too?"
"No, I'm not a witch little girl. I am your yaya or nanny. I'll take care of you."
"but Yaya Ising, Yaya Titiy, Yaya Sara.. They look like a witch! They hate me! I hate them!" Nakita kong nalungkot ang batang parang totoong nasaktan. Maya-maya ngumawa na sya.
"Little girl, shh! What's wrong?"
"Mama! I want my Mama to take care of me. I do not want witches! Mama!" Iyak na ng iyak yung bata. Hindi ko mapatahan. Kung ano-ano ng patawa ko dito, pag-aamo sa kanya pero walang effect.
"Shhh!" Naku naman itong batang to.
"Mama!"
Palakad-lakad ako. Think, think! I don't know how to make her laugh hanggang sa matapakan ko yung tubig sa sahig na ikinadulas ko. Sht! Basa na ako!
Pinilit kong maiayos ang sarili ko. Ikaw ba naman shoot sa bathtub.
Napaupo na ako sa tub. Samatalang si Alice, tumigil na sa kakaiyak. Nakatingin sya sa akin na parang amaze na amaze. Isang sandali pa sinabuyan na nya ako ng tubig sa mukha. Tawa sya ng tawa.
"Alice! Payback time!" Tutal naman basa na ako, sinunggaban ko na sya. Napauo sya sa tub pero hindi pa rin nawawala yung pagtawa nya.
"Kyyah! Stop!" She continues to giggle non-stop.
"What are you two doing?"
Natigilan lang kami ng bumukas yung pinto ng bathroom at tumambad si Nico at Maj.
