I tapped Lauren's shoulder to greet her as she spun around.

"Hey," I sang.

She glanced around nervously.

"I'm not sure if Harry's coming back today, but someone said he was, and I would suggest staying away from him. He's really pissed off at you," she says.

I raise an eyebrows at her.

"Why is he mad at me, I didn't do anything," I defend.

"You saw Olivia at the fair right?" She asks, as if its obvious.

"Well, yeah," I say.

I did see her. Chase and I were about to get in line and she called my name I waved to her, but that was all.

"She told Harry she saw you with Chase, and he's really mad," she says.

I feel my stomach drop. That was the thought I had been trying to avoid. Somehow, I knew this would happen. I waited for what she was going to say next before I began to freak out.

"Why is he mad?" I ask, confused.

"You don't know, do you?" She laughs.

"What!" I yell more than ask.

She was being really annoying. Why is she coming over to me trying to make me feel bad. I couldn't really care less what Harry thinks. All though, ill think differently if it was Harry asking me.

"He likes you. A lot. I've never seen him like someone so much before," she sad.

I could feel my face getting red. Not because I was embarrassed, but because of anxiety. I could tell Harry had anger issues, and I ha do intentions of being the one he was aiming them at. It all started to make sense now. When he offered to stay and cheer and take me out to dinner. How he best that guy almost to death. Not to mention when he took care of me when I was puking. I haven't helped, I've been feeding myself to him, I just didn't realize it. I ran my hand through my hair casually, but on the inside I felt equivalent to a forest fire.

My eyes burned as I struggled to keep them open. One word, school.

"Kennedy," the performance teacher called as I looked up.

He pointed to a point on the stage and I racked my brain for the answer.

"Downstage," I say.

"Very good," he says.

I roll my eyes and check the clock. I sit up and begin putting my stuff away, the clock telling me there was less than five minutes left.

"Okay, don't forget to bring a spiral notebook for the speech unit starting on Monday," he reminds, before returning to his desk.

I heard a few groans from the back, but I was excited. I liked giving speeches, as long as they were only to a class. I wanted to get into giving speeches to big crowds when I'm older, but I don't know if that is going to happen. I've never gotten anything other than an A for my speeches, but I want a scholarship. The bell rang and I stood up, ready for today to be over. I tried to avoid Harry as I walked out of the room, but it didn't exactly work the way I wanted it to.

"Kaitlin," Harry said.

It sounded like he was taunting me, but it also made my stomach knot because of the way my name rolled out of his mouth. I glanced back as he stepped next to me.

"I need to talk to you," he says.

"Last time that happened, it didn't end up good," I remind him.

He glances down at me, a small smile growing on his face, before laughing.

"You don't like making out with me?" He asks.

I don't answer him, and he begins to talk.

"So," he begins "I heard you went on a date with Chase,"

I swallow and nod slowly. I felt so awkward and the palms of my hands got sweaty. Why was he asking me this? He laughed under his breath and shook his head lightly.

"You don't get it, do you?" He asks.

I looked up at him. He was looking down at me, sincerity in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, but I have no idea what your talking about," I admit.

Sure, I had ideas. But I wasn't going to be sharing them anytime soon. He stopped and turned to look at me. The hallways were slowly emptying, and we were going to be late soon.

"Kaitlin," his voice the quietest and softest I've ever heard it.

He took a deep breath and stared into my eyes. I felt uneasy in my stomach. H looked down and laughed awkwardly.

"Just, never mind," he says.

"No, tell me," I say, finding my words again.

He looked up at me.

"Kaitlin, I love you," he says.

He stared at me for a minute before walking away, leaving me baffled.
