I hummed to the music in my headphones as I did my homework. I was in a good mood today. I knew why, but I kept denying it. I jumped slightly as my phone chimed because I got a text.

Chase

Can I talk to you?

My heart faltered as I remember what Harry said to me.

Me

Of course! Come

over.

I really wanted to hangout with Chase. I felt bad for ditching him last week. In my defense, if he would have offered to take me to cheer instead of Harry, I would have let him. I may have told him not too, but I was scared of Harry then and gave in right away. I glanced in the mirror to make sure my makeup didn't look too bad after the school day. I sighed as I brushed off the makeup covering my black eye. A few people had noticed my lip, but not many. I was thankful for it, i didn't feel like explaining why I was with Harry Styles on a Friday night and how he saved me. I hopped of my bed as a knock on the door rang through my house. I was the only one there, but I still raced to get to the door. I opened it and Chase stood awkwardly there. I could tell this "talk" would be nothing like Harry's. I held the door open and gestured for him to come in. I shut the door behind him, locking it to be safe.

"Hey," I sang.

He grinned at me.

"Hi," he said back.

At least he's not mad, my sub-conscious told me.

"Come on," I said, gesturing for him to follow me.

When we got in my room, I sat on the floor and he sat next to me.

"So," we both started.

He laughed uncomfortably.

"Sorry, you go," he said.

"No, it's fine," I insisted.

He shook his head and I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Fine, I was going to ask you what you wanted to talk about?" I said.

"Oh," he said sighing a sigh of relief "well that's what I was going to say."

He played with his fingers nervously. What is up with him today? It was making my anxious to find out.

"Well, I'm-well I mean-I," he stuttered.

He took a deep breath.

"I know you kissed Harry," he spit out.

"And I want to know why you keep hanging out with me and saying yes if you'd rather be with Harry?" He asked, gaining control over his actions again.

My mouth parted slightly. He kept his eyes on his hands as he waited for my response.

"Chase, I wouldn't rather be with Harry," I said.

He looked at me with fire in his eyes clearly not believing what I said.

"Well then after I asked you first to go on a date with me, you told me you had to watch your nieces and went out on a date with him anyways," he said.

He didn't break his eye contact now, he was mad.

"I-I had to go to cheer. I didn't mean to go with him, but he offered to drive me. It wasn't a date he just wanted food after, and I wasn't going to tell him no," I said quietly.

He snorted and I looked up at him.

"You don't seem to have a problem telling me no," he shot back.

I raised my eyebrows at him. What was his problem today? He sighed and stood up. I pushed myself off the floor, too.

"Chase, wait," I said grabbing his arm.

He spun around to look at me, now in my doorway.

"What?" He asked warily.

"Please, just listen to me," I said, waiting for his approval.

He didn't reply, so I kept going.

"I don't like Harry. Yes, we kissed. But he kissed me first, and I'm not sure if you've noticed but he's a lot bigger than me and there was no way I could get him off of me. I wanted to go on a date with you, I swear I really did, but I had to go to cheer. I'm really sorry," I said.

I'm not sure if he heard what I said because I was panicking and it all came out in a rush. His jaw clenched as he took in what I said. It was then I realized how attractive he really is. His arms were thick with muscles, but they weren't too big. He has a really nice jaw line and his eyes were the prettiest shade of brown I've ever seen. The veins in his neck were prominent, probably because I pissed him off and he was about to yell at me. It was worth a try anyways.

"Then kiss me," he said quietly, surprising me more than him yelling would have.

"What?" I asked.

"It's so easy for you to kiss a stranger you don't want to be with, than kiss me. You've only known me since what, preschool," he said.

I wasn't listening anymore. My eyes shifted down to his lips. He had better lips that Harry, and Harry was a pretty damn good kisser. I took a breath and slowly brought my lips to his. It took him a minute to realize what I did and actually move his lips. His hands found my shoulders and slid down to my hips. I wrapped my arms around his neck and wove my fingers through his hair. I felt butterflies grow in my stomach as he brought his hands up to my hair. He was so much more careful than Harry. Stop. I shouldn't be thinking of Harry right now. His lips slowly left mine. His hands fell back down to my hips. I couldn't help but smile at him. I did really like Chase. I got butterflies just the way his hands held my hips. That didn't happen with Harry.

"So, how about Saturday night?" He asked, having a hard time keeping the smile off his face. I bit my lip as I smiled at him a nodded.

"I would love to,"
