I shoved the door open, tossing my bag on the floor. Talking to Harry out me in a much better mood. I heard laughing coming from the living room and I stopped, confused. My mom was the only person home. I walked to wear the laughter came from and saw my mom and Anne on the couch drinking something, probably my moms coffee, and talking. I was surprised to see Anne actually. Her eyes lit up when she saw me.

"Oh, Faith! Is this your daughter you were talking about?" She asks.

"Yes, that's Kaitlin," my mom says proudly.

"I've met you before. For a minute I thought you said that crazy red-haired girl was your daughter!" She says.

"Lauren?" I asked, laughing.

"Yes! That's the one!" She says.

I couldn't help my laugh as I threw my head back.

"Lauren has red hair?" My mom asks, confused.

"She did, she died it to black right before we came though," I say.

My mom nods and turns her head back to Anne. I leave them alone and go upstairs to do my homework. I could hear them talking through the floor and I couldn't help but eavesdrop.

"Oh my goodness, Harry, my son, had such a crush on Lauren. He was in love with her. I was kind of mad, she's not good for him. I'm sure she's a nice girl and all, but Harry needs someone that not like him," she says, with amusement in her voice.

"Yeah, Lauren's sweet but she's a fire cracker," my mom laughs.

I roll my eyes at my moms term, all though she wasn't wrong.

"Anyways, he stopped talking about her for a while now, and he says he lost interest in her, but I don't believe that. Something else, or someone else, was going on. I didn't figure it out until your daughter came over last week," she muses.

I could almost see my moms mouth fall open in realization. I bit my lip and keep listening.

"He is in love with her. I'm not joking, Faith. They were together for about 5 minutes in front of me, and the way he stared at her was incredible. If love at first sight is real, then that is what I believe it looks like," she says.

"Really?" Faith asks.

"Yes, no doubt. After she left I had to ask him, I'm very nosy. He told me that he liked her a lot. Then I just had to come and meet you. I felt bad, you've lived here before school started and I haven't made my way down here, I've just been so busy," she says, trailing off.

I know my mom better than to just let that go. She likes it when I have a boyfriend, she says I'm a much happier person. I also know that she likes Harry, I don't know what it is but she likes him.

"I think Kaitlin likes him, too. I know that I've raised them knowing tattoos and piercings are bad, but that is only because my views are that she's too young to have them. At first, I know she was scared of him. Now, they hang out all the time, and I can tell she likes him," my mom says.

I was surprised she caught on to all of that. All though, I know my mom knows more than I think she does. She's always been like that.

"And that's what I told him to. I was like, you know Harry, you brought all of these changes on yourself. You know that fathers aren't happy about their daughters bringing home guys that look like that belong in jail. I felt so bad after I said that, because he was so upset. I don't know what I said that got to him, but he locked himself in he room and I didn't see him for the rest of the weekend after that," she says.
