We got to the airport almost immediately , I couldn't wake anyone so I left a note for Em about what happened. The next flight out wouldn't leave for almost an hour. I paced the airport , my mind was racing I couldn't focus on anything. I kept looking at my phone waiting for updates but I hadn't heard anything.

" Baby come here sit down and relax you are going to drive yourself insane."

I walked over to Odell and sat beside him, he wrapped his hand in mine and I laid my head on his shoulder.

" I'm so scared babe , what if something happens to them. I don't think I can deal with losing someone again."

" Nothing is going to happen , they are all going to be fine babe I promise."

I knew Odell was saying whatever he could to make me feel better , but making promises he couldn't keep just wasn't going to work.

I fell asleep in his lap waiting for the flight , he shook me gently kissing my forehead.

" Babe the plane is about to board come on let's go."

I stood up stretching and walking towards the terminal. I just wanted to be next to Mel. We got on the plane , and settled in our seats the flight was a little long so I could sleep more. I laid my head on Dell's shoulder and her wrapped his hand in mine laying his head on mine . I closed my eyes and prayed silently until I fell into a slumber.

I dreamed about Mel and a beautiful little girl , she had eyes just like Mel and little blonde curls like Mike. She was smiling up at me , she held on to my hand so tightly that I instantly fell in love with her. Tears fell from my eyes and she smiled , as if to say it's okay Delaney my sibling is watching over us. I woke up out of the dream and the pilot was giving us the go ahead to get off the plane.

" What's up babe you okay ? You kept moving in your sleep and you jumped up kinda quick just now."

" Babe please , please just get me to the hospital I need to see them now."

I walked out of the plane and rushed towards the front I didn't care about the luggage Odell could get it and meet me at the hospital. I hopped in the first cab I could get and told him to take me to the hospital. The ride seemed like forever but only took 20 mins max. I paid him and hopped out of the cab. I texted Odell and told him I was sorry and to meet me at the hospital.

I ran to the information desk and asked for Mel's information.

" Ma'am she's in surgery right now , you can have a seat in the waiting room."

" No that's not good enough , I need to speak to my dad or her doctor someone. I need to know how she is now."

" Ma'am I don't have any of that information, her surgery is over just sit tight I'll find out all that I can for you now."

I wanted to spazz out on her , but that wasn't going to help get the information any quicker. I just walked over to the waiting room and sat down. Time seemed to just be dragging 5 mins turned into 15 and 15 turned into 45. I stared to walk back to the information desk and Odell came through the doors. He had all of the bags with him, I was actually really glad to see him. I needed he distraction. I smiled and walked towards him.

" Thank you for leaving me. I was walking around like excuse me I lost my adult."

I laughed and wrapped my arms around his waist and looked up at him, he smiled and leaned towards my face kissing me slowly. We just stood there embracing each other , I know he didn't know what to say so just being here was enough for me.

" Lane." I turned around realizing that was Mike's voice. He looked so tired , the stress was written all over his face.

I ran to him hugging him, as soon as he hugged me back I started to cry. He hugged me tighter and rubbed my back.

" Daddy how is she ? Is she okay? How are the babies ?"

He looked down at me and I could see the sadness in his eyes. It wasn't good something went wrong. He looked over at Odell and waved. Dell smiled and waved back. He grabbed my hand and walked me towards the sitting area.

" No daddy I don't want to sit tell me what's wrong."

" Lane please sit down."

" Where is Mel?" I raised my voice a little bit causing a shift in Mike's mood.

" She's in recovery , she won't be able to have visitors for about an hour."

" So she's okay, the babies are they okay ?"

He shook his head and looked away from me , he couldn't look me in my face cause he didn't want to hurt me. I wanted him to stop beating around the bush.

" Odell lets go we are going to the nursery and see my babies lets go."

" Babe sit down and let Mike talk please ?"

" I will go alone. Daddy when you are ready to talk you can come and find me."

I walked towards the information desk asking for the floor the nursery was on. She informed me of the floor and the room Mel was in, she did tell me that I couldn't see her for an hour because she was recovering.

I walked to the elevator with Odell and Mike heavy on my heels. Dell grabbed me before I could step onto the elevator.

" Listen to me Delaney Jade. Talk to Mike before you go up there. With everything going on right now you don't need anything causing a slip. Please babe I am begging you." His eyes pleading with me , I agreed and looked to Mike

" Daddy I'm not sitting I will stand just please tell me what happened."

" One of the babies didn't make it Lane. The cord was wrapped to tightly , once the doctors finally got to him he wasn't breathing anymore. There was nothing they could do Delaney they tried everything."

My heart stopped , I literally felt the freeze in my body , I couldn't breathe I didn't want to breathe. I wanted to feel the way my baby brother felt. He didn't even get the chance to live a life. Silent tears fell from my eyes but I couldn't make a sound. Mike wrapped his arms around me and I cried into his shoulder , wrapping my arms around him. He had just lost a child and here I was being selfish.

Odell stood back and let us have our moment , I looked over at him and he was misty eyed himself. He wiped away tears and mouthed the words " I'm Sorry".

" Daddy I'm so sorry, how is Mom ? Is she okay I know she's a wreck right now. What about the other baby?"

His eyes lit up when I said that he wiped away tears and smiled " She's so pretty Lane , her eyes are beautiful just like Mel , and she has blonde hair she's perfect."

She ! Like the baby in my dreams she was trying to tell me that her little brother was okay. I smiled and hugged him again. We gained two angels today that was the biggest blessing of all.

" Mel is okay Lane , she was upset but she realized there was nothing more that could have been done. You know how she is , she said it wasn't meant for her. The lord had other plans for our little boy. He will watch over and protect his sister."

" What's her name ?"

" Braelyn Ryder" I smiled it was adorable and it warmed my heart because Ryder is what they had planned on naming the baby if it was a boy.

I am glad that I am here , I can't wait to meet my little sister. First things first I want to see Mel and make sure she is really okay. She's strong and with Mike by her side they can make anything work.
