I finished getting ready before Odell because of course he's slow. I texted Emeli to let her know we would meet them at the restaurant in about 30 minutes. I looked at myself in the mirror and admired my growing belly. I had just recently started to show, and I was actually okay with it,at first I was like OMG I'm a cow, I was working out constantly, but my doctor put a stop to that very quickly. I was so hoping for a little girl, Odell thinks that we are going to have a baby, a blessing because we lost my little brother. Odell walked out of the bathroom finally and he looked amazing as usual, but he looked a little tired in the face.

" Babe you look tired what's wrong?"

" Before you woke up this morning, I was up cause I felt like I needed to throw up but nothing would come up. I just didn't sleep good after that."

My poor baby is going through it, he is having more pregnancy symptoms then I am. I walked over to him and hugged him.

" I'm sorry babe, you want to stay here and rest? I don't mind if you do"

Even though all of me wanted Odell by my side, while doing this I didn't want to drag him along if he wasn't feeling well.

" Nah baby i'm good I don't pass up food, I should feel better once I eat."

Greedy ass lol. We headed out making sure we had everything, we were just a couple blocks away from the place so we decided to walk. The weather in California in the spring months is amazing, it's absolutely gorgeous out.
We got in front of the place , and I kind of froze. I looked ahead and I saw Yanna and Q , so I knew they were already here.

" You sure you want to do this ?"

It's now or never , I had no choice I locked my hand in with Odell's and we walked towards Q and Yana. Ayanna saw me and immediately ran towards me . I smiled and kneeled down catching her and hugging her.

" Hi Auntie's Baby, I missed you Noonie."

" I miss you too Auntie" she smiled and looked up at Odell waving " Hi Uncle D" he smiled and fist bumped her. The fist bump was their thing no one else allowed. Q greeted us and I looked behind and Emeli was walking up with a woman I assume to be her mother. My heart beat started to quicken.

" Buggie, this is my mother Esmeralda. Mama my little sister Delaney." Esme was beautiful exactly as I had pictured but she looked so different from my mom. She was tall and curvy and her skin was tan. She was beautiful.

I extended my hand to shake it, she smiled and embraced me. I hesitated but eventually hugged her back.

" It's so good to finally meet you Delaney. Emmy talks about you nonstop ."

I felt at ease but we haven't sat down to talk yet. She ended the embrace and we walked into the restaurant, we made reservations so we were seated right away.

" So Delaney Emmy tells me that you are having a baby. You're glowing carrying your pregnancy very well. You look just like your mother you know."

My eyes widened I didn't know she knew my mother , so it caught me off guard. Everyone that knew my mom said that I was her twin.

" You knew my mother ?"

" I knew of her , when me and your father finally separated for good I saw him and your mother out together, I tried to be friends with her mainly to protect her , but she was much younger and never really comfortable with the thought."

" You tried to protect her from my father ? Why didn't you just tell someone that she was close too about the kind of man that he was."

" Delaney you have to understand , I didn't know anyone that knew your mother. I would have done everything in my power to protect you and your mother."

" But you couldn't I get it . It's fine."

I was getting a little upset, and I know it wasn't her fault , but it's not fair. Why didn't my mother let her help? Why couldn't she just listen. Odell rubbed my thigh squeezing it gently, snapping me out of my daze.

" I'm sorry Esme , it's not your fault. I always get uncomfortable when talking about my parents."

" As you should, Delaney your mother tried I know she did but your father was a very powerful and very dangerous man. And even still I know how much he loved you and Emeli, because when she was born he begged me to see her. I was the one who wouldn't allow it because I was worried about what he would do to her."

I looked at Emeli's face I could tell that took her by surprise.

" Wait a second, you told me he never wanted to see me. You said he didn't love me and that's why he stayed away from me."
