We pulled up to Emeli's house and Ayanna jumped out running to the door. I opened it for her and when we walked in Em was yelling in Spanish on the phone. She saw us and calmed down looking at Ayanna's face. She ended the phone call and picked her up.
" Mommy I brought you food." She smiled at yanna kissing her
" Thank you baby I can't wait to eat it , why don't you go out back with Daddy and Uncle Kevin."
" I'll take her out there Em." Odell interjected picking Yanna up and flying her like a plane outside.
Emeli sat down at the table and laid her head down. I sat next to her rubbing her back.
" Talk to me Emmy tell me what's wrong? Get it off your chest."
" She is such a liar Buggie and I don't want her to be apart of my wedding. I know you don't want to blame her for what happened , but it's obvious that she's the reason daddy became so angry. And for what ? Because she wanted a rich husband, she's sick and I truly don't care about what happens to her anymore."
" Em don't say that. Maybe it should be a talk between just the two of you?"
" I may go to jail for murder if I do that."
My phone rang , I looked down and it was Mel calling me. Em sat up and let me answer it.
" Hey Mommy, what's up?"
" I was just calling to check and see how breakfast went."
" It was awful, not for me at first it was hard but I adjusted. But Emeli's mom opened a can of worms that I don't think she can ever pretend she didn't."
" Oh no what happened Delaney !"
"Well she basically told us that she kept our father away from Emeli because he wasn't rich , not because he was a danger to her. Emeli believes that her mother is the reason he became so angry and aggressive because she took his family from him."
" Oh no that's awful how is em ?"
" No great , but I am trying to fix it now."
" Okay baby girl go ahead and do what you gotta do we will see you in a few days for the wedding ! I love you."
I walked back into the room and Emeli was sitting on the floor playing with Ayanna. Q and Dell were watching some game on T.V , I walked over to Odell and sat beside him. I would leave all of the drama alone for now. The door opened and I heard foot steps coming into the living room, I looked up and Iris, Jasmine, and Kevin walked into the room.
" Hey Everybody , I brought the drinks ! Now this day can turn around completely." Kevin held up bags smiling.
My whole mood shifted , my body tightened and the heat rose in my body from the anger. I rolled my eyes and looked at the T.V.
" Me and Delaney are going to go. She can't drink right now and I don't want to enjoy myself when she can't."
" Aw how cute is that. Aren't you guys just the cutest." Iris smirked as the words escaped her mouth and it pissed me off.
" Actually no, we are going to stay Odell enjoy yourself , I'm here and that's plenty exciting for me."
He could sense the anger in my tone so he didn't push. I guess Emeli could too because she Side eyed me.
" Well then sounds like it's a party." Everyone followed Kevin into the kitchen . Odell turned around and looked at me.
" Dell don't ! Cause I know what you are going to say don't it's fine."
" But we both know how she is when she drinks Delaney !"
" Exactly , which is why I want this to happen. They will get to see the type of female that she really is."
" Baby now is not the time for those type of shenanigans, not days before you sisters wedding."
"Shenanigans? No such thing, this is going to play out all by itself don't you worry. Enjoy yourself."
" I can't , I am going to be on edge all night , trying to keep you from jumping across the table. You are pregnant please Remember that."
" I promise you I won't do anything to hurt me or the baby."
I wrapped my arms around him and he kissed my nose. I made a promise so I can't break it. Yelling never hurt anyone did it ? And really who is Emeli going to be chose ? Her baby sister or some girl who wishes she was her baby sister ?
We walked into the kitchen and they already had the shots lined up. Emeli walked back down and smiled I guess that means getting Ayanna down for her nap went easier than planned.
" Just a couple more days and my two favorite people will be Mr and Mrs. I used to be envious of Em cause she always had Quandell's attention. I was only jealous cause I couldn't keep a shorty around the way Q could. But now Em is like my baby sister , I would go to war for you Em and I don't think there is anyone better than you for him."
I smiled watching Emeli and Quandell they really were the perfect pair. The energy between them two made it hard for anyone around them to be angry or upset.
" We love you too our favorite little hothead."
Everyone laughed including Kevin , cause he knows he's a hot head. They all toasted and took a shot. I drank water, they say that red wine is okay but I don't even want to chance it. Time passed we laughed and they drank. Odell stopped after the first few I guess realizing that if he got carried away he might lose focus. I watched Iris the whole night and she couldn't take her eyes off Odell after her first few shots. I stepped away to go and check on Ayanna forgetting that the nanny was here keeping her busy.
I stepped into the bathroom to freshen up. I heard the music turn on , I laughed and finished in the bathroom. I walked back out into the dining room and Iris had Kevin in the chair giving him a lap dance. I just stood and watched , she really was an attention whore and I couldn't stand it. She looked over at Odell and smiled
" Your turn handsome take a seat." She grabbed at Odell's hand and he pulled back. Good boy I thought to myself. But she insisted , she pulled him down into the chair anyway and changed the song on the phone.
She turned on One More Line by Cylus and I couldn't believe she was so bold. It was the song we played the first time all three of us had sex. I was livid that was enough for me. Odell saw me and I stood up , I walked into the kitchen and looked over at Iris.
" Really ?" She looked at me and smiled , she knew that this was going to piss me off , this is what she wanted. And it was about to be what she got !
