Alic's POV:

I can't believe I'm doing this. All of this is crazy. It was just a dream! It doesn't mean that it's going to actually come true. Maybe everything that happened to my mom was a coincidence.

"Aliczandreia!" I jumped at the sudden sound of my moms voice. I turned to look at her. She was standing on the front porch looking at me with wide eyes. "Stop standing like a statue and say hi to the boy!" I quickly look to the group of boys that were once playing football, but are now looking at me.

"Um hi." You could hear the nervousness in my voice. I wrapped my fingers around their fence and held on to it tightly. "What's up good lookin'? Did you come for my autograph?" Suddenly my nerves went away as no other than Taylor Caniff came walking up to me. I scoffed. "No. I came to introduce myself to my neighbor."

"Oh come on, I know you came here to see me!" Taylor smirked as he made it to the fence. He wrapped his fingers around mine, but I yanked them back and pushed him away. "Oh get over yourself!" I snapped.

Taylor Caniff was one of the most popular guys at my high school. He was cocky, annoying, a jerk, and he played with girls hearts like a toy. I rolled my eyes. He's such a tool. I can't believe I dreamt of him being one of my best friends.

"Yo what's going on?" Finally the man that I came here to see! Matthew Espinosa. He stood besides Taylor, but pushed him back a little to stand in front of him. "Just wanted to introduce myself, until your friend-" I glanced at Taylor. "Rudely interrupted me." I felt the nerves rise again when Matthew licked his lips.

I just realized. I'm talking to Matthew Espinosa. The hottie I had a crush on since he moved here, but never had the guts to talk to him. "I'm sorry about him. He can get...crazy at times." He apologized. I laughed, "Yeah trust me. I know."

"So you wanted to introduce yourself?" He asked. I took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, um I'm Aliczandreia Nate. I'm your neighbor, and I'm so sorry I didn't introduce myself sooner. It's just senior year..,everything was crazy." I laughed nervously at the end of my sentence. Matthew smiled. It was then that I swear my heart fluttered.

"Yeah I think I remember you from school. Did we have choir together?" He remembered me? I quickly nodded. "You remember me?" I voiced out my thoughts.

He chuckled, "How could I forget you? Your voice sounds like an angel. It was no wonder that you would get all the solo parts. To be honest I started to get jealous." He held his heart like it was in pain. I laughed then shook my head.

"Why were you so jealous?" I was happy with our conversation it was effortless and easy. I didn't feel the nervous butterflies anymore, but now they were a different kind. I was finally talking to the boy I had a crush on for months now.

"Did you hear my singing voice? I sound like a dying bird, but you! You sounded like a bird flying and soaring so high!" I laughed again at his comparison. "So...we're birds?" He winked at me, " If you want to be I guess we could be."

I bit my lip to hide my smile. It was quiet for a few seconds. It wasn't awkward. It was just the silence you have before transitioning into a new conversation. "Do you want to come play football with us?" He asked jutting his thumb behind him.

Did he just ask me....a girl....to play football? With a bunch of guys? The thought of him not being sexist, and not assuming I'm to weak to play football with grown teenage boys made the butterflies multiply! I'm a feminist. I'm all about girl power! I believe girls can do anything, so him asking me to play football–it made everything better.

"Yeah I'd love to!"

And that was the beginning of something horribly beautiful.
