Chapter 15

Matts POV:

"People for Zoeanna Espinosa?" The nurse called out.

I swear I just froze. Did she just say Espinosa? Like my last name? Not believing it I looked over at Alic, who was looking at the ground. "A-Alic?" I finally spoke. She started to shake violently. "Y-yes Matt?" She asked. Her face was red and she look like she was about to cry again. "What is she talking about?" I try to say calmly but my voice came out a bit rough.

Alic closed her eyes and choked out a whimper. She shook her head slowly and let out a long breath. I finally get it now. All the pieces are now finally coming together. When she first introduced herself she mispronounced her name. How every time I spend a day with Zoey, Alic looks at us with a pained but admiring look. Alic lied to me the whole time.

I felt anger build in me. Why would she lie to me? What did I do? Nothing. I did nothing, but be a supportive friend to her, and she lies to me? She kept Zoey from me for three years! I missed out on being a father for three years of her life! She had times when she needed a dad and I wasn't there! What did Alic tell her about her dad?

"Why?" I yelled. Alic looked up at me with tear filled eyes, but I couldn't feel sympathy for her. She kept Zoey from me. "Oh My God!" I yell again, but this time I pick up a vase and throw it at the wall. I fell to the floor in clear shiny pieces. "Answer me!" I roared. I felt someone grab my shoulders and start to pull me back.

"Let go! Don't touch me!" I struggled against the hold they had on me. Pushing and jabbing at them with my elbows. "Dude, if you don't calm down you are going to get kicked out! They already warned us!" Cameron said, pushing me against a wall. I pushed Cameron away from me. "Do you know she kept Zoey from me? Zoey is MY daughter Cam! I didn't even know!" I pointed at Alic who had a guilty look on her face.

"Yes I know! I know she's your daughter! I know Alic kept her from you, but she has her reasons Matt!" Cameron said. I couldn't believe it. She told him? Who else did she tell? "What? You told him? Who else? Huh? Who else did you tell?" I yelled to her.

That was it for Alic. She started to break down. "I didn't mean to tell!" She sobbed. I looked at Cam and asked in a low deep dangerous voice, "Who else knows?" Cam shook his head and whispered, "Everyone."

I laughed, starting to go a bit crazy at how fast events are turning. "Why Alic? Why does everyone know, but not me? Her father." My voice broke at the end. "I missed out on everything for her first three years of life. I missed out on her being born! I missed out on the late nights, and making bottles for her. I missed out on her saying her first words, and her taking her first steps! I missed so much Alic! How am I supposed to make up for that?" I asked, finally calming down. Now all I really felt was broken and rejected.

Alic kept her hands over her mouth with tears still streaming down her face. A nurse went up to her tapping her shoulder to get attention. Alic spun around and listen to the nurse. Nodding, she started following the nurse through the doors.

I sat down next to Taylor in defeat. He's been oddly quiet through all of this My head starting to hurt from all the yelling I did. "Just remember Matt. She had her reasons." Taylor said. "Yeah." Cam agreed, sitting down next to me. I look over at him and started to tear up for the first time since I discovered this secret. "And what would those reasons be? Let me decide if they are actually good enough reasons to keep my daughter away from me." I said to them.

"That's for her to tell." He said sitting back. "The really question now is...Are you okay?" He asked, putting a hand on my shoulder. I shook my head.

"Why would she do this to me?" I asked then instantly broke down. I cried not caring if anybody was watching.

Alic's POV:

I went to Zoey's door to her room and I quickly wiped the tears off my face and brushed my now dry and wild hair back. I finally pushed her door open and entered her room. I saw she was awake and smiled. "Hi Princess." I said while walking to her bed. "Hey mommy." She said with a smile. I smile back. Her alone can make a day better. "How do you feel?" I asked, stroking her hair. "A bit better, my arm still hurts, but not a lot." She said.

"That's good." I smiled. "Momma, where's everyone else? Where's Matt?" She asked with the cutest confused face ever. "Um Matt is outside with Taylor and Cam." I said, feeling nervous on why shes asking. "Can they come in?" She asked with hopeful eyes.

I nodded. "I will be right back." I said patting her leg. She had a big smile and nodded. I smiled back and went out of the room. I walked toward the doors to the lobby and opened it. I started to get nervous again. Matt probably hates me right now. I wouldn't blame him if he did. I kept it a secret about being pregnant. I did it right to his FACE. I kept Zoey a secret and he is absolutely right. He has missed out on a lot. Her first Christmas, her first birthday, her first Easter, and a lot more.

I went into the waiting room and seen Matt crying, Cam trying to comfort him, and Taylor had a hand on his back Talking to him with a guilty look on his face. I walked closer to them, trying not to make any loud noise. I'm afraid that if I do Matt will get mad all over again.

Cam noticed me and stood up quickly. I instantly hugged him. Cam was always like a big brother to me. "I hope he understands." I said. "He will." Cam said pulling back. "You just have to explain. Everything." I pull away and nodded.

I cleared my throat, so my voice wouldn't crack. "Zoey wants y-you guys back." I said. Matt looked toward me as soon a I let out a sound. "Follow me." I said and turned around and started walking. Hoping Matt is following me.

Matt's POV: (sorry for switching it up so much.)

I kept crying. I felt Taylor put his hand on my back. "I don't understand. Why would she keep something like this away from me." I said. "Dude put yourself in her place." Taylor said. "Did she even think of how I would feel though?" I asked. "Why do you think she wanted her to be a secret? Just think about that. Taylor said.

I nodded, then heard someone speak. "Zoey wants y-you guys back." As soon as I heard the sound of her voice I looked up at her.

"Follow me." She said and turned around, walking back to Zoey's room. I got up, wiped my eye and followed her
