My Demon Child

Chapter 15

Nikki paced in the small hallway of the upstairs hall. She couldn't get any sleep in the past month but she couldn't just go into Mary's room like she used to now Reese was there. Nikki got closer to Mary's room door and was going to knock but turned around. She couldn't always run to Mary when something went bad.

"Nikki what's going on?" Mary asked as she rubbed the sleepiness away from her eyes.

"Nothing Mary I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you. "Nikki said truthfully. Mary knew her friend to well and place a soft kiss on her forehead.

"I'm gonna go pee and I'll be in room soon okay?" With that Mary walk away and Nikki headed to her room. Nikki made small circles around her belly. "Wanna tell me what's up?" Nikki turned around to see Mary had already made it.

"Nothing, I just can't sleep." Nikki explained. Mary climbed into Nikki's bed and made her way next to Nikki. Mary wrapped her arm around Nikki and pulled her closer. That one small gesture cause Nikki to burst into tears.

"Hey it's alright Nikki." Mary didn't understand why Nikki was crying but just comfort her friend.

"I'm sorry it's just I miss you." Nikki said. "We just haven't hanged out in a while since Kate and Reese moved in. I just miss this." Nikki gestured to them. When Nikki's tears finally stopped, they both went to sleep.

  Next morning when Nikki woke up to a lonely bed. She looked around and saw that the clock read 11:32. Instanly Nikki got up and began to change. When she finished she rushed down stairs to get something to eat.

"Good morning sleepy head." Nikki looked at Mary confused.

"Mary we're late to school." Nikki told Mary as if the burnette wasn't aware.

"We're not going I called us both in sick. Today is for us I asked everyone else to find a place to crash tonight so we could have the house for ourself." Nikki smile. Mary walked over and handed Nikki a plate with crepes and Nutella.

"You made these?" Nikki asked. Mary nod. Both went to take a seat on the living room capuchin and watched movies. Both girls enjoyed their day together. Nikki could now felt relieved how could she ever thing that she was going to loose her best friend. Nikki buried her face in Mary's chest she just needed to sleep the babies were taking up all her energy. Nikki often her head when she herd a knock on the door.

"I'll get it." Nikki said getting up. When she opened the door she was shocked to see Liam standing at the door.

"Can we talk?" Liam asked when he realized Nikki wasn't going to say anything. Nikki looked over her shoulder to see Mary standing there.

"I'll be here if you need anything." Mary assured. Nikki agreed and walked out with Liam.

"How's the baby?" Liam asked breaking the ice.

"They're doing fine." Nikki a answered truthfully.

"They?" Liam asked confused. He only gave her one child not two.

"Yes a little girl and boy." Nikki smiled. Her kids were her happiness and that's all that mattered. Both remained silent not knowing what to say.

"I wanted to apologize," Liam said. "I was an ass I shouldn't have left the way I did that day. Nikki I want to help you, I want to raise those kids with you and give them my last name." Liam explained. "Please Nikki let me be there."

"Wait what?" Nikki asked confused. Liam didn't want to explain any farther and just like that he got down on one knee.

"Nikki I'm saying will you marry me." Nikki couldn't believe the sight in front of her. Liam was proposing marriage to her, he was offering to be the father of her children.

"No." Nikki whispered. Liam got up and Nikki could see the hurt in his eyes.

"Excuse me?" Liam said.

"No!" Nikki repeated. "When I told you that I was pregnant you walked out. You don't get come here and tell that you want to offer me you support and help." Nikki was going to let out everything she had kept bottled up. "That's bullshit you want to give these babies your last name no! If anyone deserves to give these kids their last name its Mary who has been by my side all this time." Mary had made her way out side when she herd the screaming and could see Nikki in tears.

"You need to go." Mary said pointing towards the road. Liam listened to what Mary said and left. He didn't go home not this time he had to talk to Reese, his sister owed him a huge explanation. When he was out of sight Liam teleported himself to heaven where he found his sister.

"We need to talk." He ordered. Reese asked her people to leave and turned her attention to her older brother.

"What can I do for you my brother?" Reese smirked knowing very well why Liam was here. He had found the truth and he wasn't happy about it.

"You got her pregnant." Liam's words were a statement not a question. "You ruined all my hard word just to bring you own child into this world." Liam chuckled. He never thought he'd have to kill his sister but he just might have to today. Liam waved his arm and a sword with a black blade appeared.

"I'm not going back to let you end the world and an innocent life just because you need a heir." Reese defended. Liam took the sword and was ready to strike but he couldn't move his hand. With a flick of her wrist Reese send the sword flying.

"You call me a monster for giving her a demon child but you do the same bestowing her with an angel." Liam said. He knew the risk of getting Nikki pregnant but this is what his father trained him for. To find the perfect girl and have her carry your heir only to kill them at the end.

"My daughter will be the reason she lives." Reese had only gotten Nikki pregnant to balance out the good and evil inside of Nikki. To give the girl a fighting chance, a shot at life. A chance to live the life that Liam took away from her when he put the girl in a comatose state.

"I will end you Reese." Liam said. "And it's a promise this time." With those final words Liam teleported to hell. Reese remained standing there. The war had begun the final battle between good and evil.

"Then this is war." Reese whispers to no one and walked into her castle. This was a war, a war that would have death and pain. No one would be spared of the pain, not even the unborn children that was certain.
