Rodger and Rebecca made a mistake when they were unkind to someone that wasn't of their class. The couple had always been good people but refused to mix with people that weren't from their social class. Treating one person wrong changed their whole life.
When they returned to their hometown after their vacation, Rebecca found out she was pregnant. Of course, the news was great for them they had a huge house that they had been dying to fill with kids. Roger and Rebecca talked about names many times and both wanted different things for the baby.
"Why would you want a girl first?" Rebecca asked her husband.
"Why wouldn't I." He answered. "Nothing better than having a little girl I can spoil, and protect. After we can have a baby boy and he will be protective of his older sister." Seeing her husband talk with so much happiness made Rebecca smile. They have been married for two years and weren't so lucky with starting a family.
When Rebecca went into labor, she was rushed to the hospital by her neighbors because Roger had gone to work. He met them at the hospital and Rebecca spent thirty hours in labor but gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. They named her Nikki.
As time passed Nikki grew up and her parents couldn't be happier. Nikki had blue eyes and blonde hair. She was always smiling and helping out around the house. Her parents, however, noticed that she was a bit odd.
"Nikki it's time to go sweetheart." Said Roger to his eight-year-old daughter. They were on their way to mass, Nikki was doing her first communion.
Nikki rushed out of her room and rushed to where her father was. "How do I look, daddy?" She asked.
"You look, beautiful princess." Nikki smiled at her father's words. She felt like a princess in her white dress. When they were all ready they headed out of the house and to the church.
At the church, her parents went inside the church and Nikki waited outside with the other kids that were also doing their first communion. Nikki stood next to one of her friends named Mary Lopez. The two girls had got along since they met in their first catechism class eleven months ago. They talked about school and how they were excited about the sacrament they were about to receive.
When they finally got their cue they headed into the church and sat through the mass. Near the end of the mass, it was their turn to go and receive the eucharist for the first time. They stood they and waited patiently. Mary received the sacrament first and now it was Nikki's turn.
"The body of Christ." Stated the priest.
"Amen," replied Nikki like she was supposed to. After she received the eucharist Nikki didn't feel well. She felt like if the floor under her was moving, breathing was becoming hard for her, and her vision was blurry. "Mommy, Daddy." She said before she collapsed.
Roger and Rebecca rushed to their daughter to make sure she was okay. When they got to her they saw that she was fine, she was still breathing she just fainted. Roger gently lifted her and they left to their house.

A week later Nikki was running around like if nothing ever happened. Every time her parents would ask her what happened she would say she didn't remember that day, that the only thing she remembered was that Mary invited her to a sleepover. It took a bit of begging from Nikki's side for her parents to eventually say yes and let her go to Mary's sleepover.
"She has to go to a doctor." Roger insisted.
"Why?" Nikki asked her father. She noticed that he look uncertain when she asked the question.
"Well because it's not normal that you don't remember what happened to you." Roger told his daughter.
"Look, it only happened once let's not overreact," Rebecca told both of them. With that said everyone remained silent and sat down at the table to have dinner. They ate enchilada quietly until Nikki started rambling about how she as excited for school, and for the sleepover. It was her first sleepover that she would be attending and her parents were worried.
Over the years they had come to the realization that their daughter was a bit different from the other kids. She was smart and adventurous like most her age but she never really had friends. She always liked spending time in her room playing with her imaginary friends, and when she usually got upset about not being able to get something in some way she would end up getting it. Her parents, however, dismissed they knew that eventually Nikki would grow and be less odd.
Later that night they left their house and went to the Lopez's to drop Nikki off. They pulled into the driveway and watched Nikki run out of the car and left knowing that their daughter was in good hands.

The girls had a good night, they watched Disney movies and ate junk food until their bellies' ached. Slowly one by one the girls started falling asleep. Maria, Mary's mother, went into the living room to check on the girls. She smiled at the sight of the sleeping girls and headed to turn off the television that was still on.
After turning off the television she started covering the girls that had fallen asleep without covering themselves. Maria noticed that Nikki wasn't in the living room asleep with the other girls. "Nikki." She whispered but got no answer. She walked over to the restroom to check if the missing child was there but there was no luck Nikki was not in the restroom. Maria decided to extend her search and look all around the lower floor of her house but she still couldn't find Nikki. She ran upstairs and did the same but she still had no luck and her panic was starting to build.
"Sam Sam" Mary said as she shook her sleeping husband.
"Yes?" Sam answered as he shook his head to fully wake up.
"Nikki is missing, I can't find her anywhere." With that said both adults were up. Sam went to double-check and see if his wife maybe missed a place but she didn't he couldn't find the missing child either. After his search, he called the Adams family and let them know what was happening.
Maria stayed with the other girls while Sam and the Adams searched for Nikki. They did not have much luck. They searched the whole town and no luck, the only place they hadn't search was the graveyard.
"What's the harm in searching the graveyard?"
When they were in the graveyard the adults they finally had luck. They found Nikki she was there laying on a grave that Roger and Rebecca knew too well.
