LOVE: LOST and FOUND (KathBie)

Prologue

Lizette and Steven grew up together. He’s a year older that her, and he treats her like a baby sister. They’re very close to each other, and often times they would sleep over each other’s house. When Steven’s mom is not around, he usually stay at the Bernardo’s, and when Lizette’s parents are not there, she would be left with the Casino’s and her yaya would just fetch her when it’s time for her to go to bed. They went to the same school during their Kindergarten years. He is very protective of her always, he would fight those who tries to hurt Lizette.

Steven was 7 years old when his family decided to leave the country, his father needs to start his new business in Canada. They need to stay there for years. When Lizette, then turning 6 years old, learned about it, she cried, she will be losing her friend, her brother, her best friend.

Steven: hindi naman kita iiwan forever Lizette. Sabi ni mommy, babalik daw kame. Matatagalan lang daw. Pero promise ko sayo, pag balik ko, maglalaro pa din tayo. Ako pa din yung best friend mo.

Lizette: Talaga kuya steven? Wag mo ko kakalimutan ha, magagalit ako sayo talaga. Hindi na kita papansinin pag kinalimutan mo ko.

S: hindi kita kakalimutan Lizette, Ikaw ang best friend ko, pag malaki na ko, tapos malaki ka na din, magpapakasal na tayo dba? Yun yung usapan naten dati.

L: talaga?

S: oo promise ko yan sayo. 

He gave her a Pink Rose he got from her mom’s garden, then he handed her a ring. He asked his mom to buy it for him coz he wanted to give it to Lizette.

S: ayan, para hindi mo kakalimutan yung promise ko sayo. Itago mo yan ha? Wag ka na umiyak. 

He wiped her tears

L: oo kuya Steven, itatago ko to, pag balik mo, nasa akin pa din to.

Mommy Anne: Steve, come on, your dad’s waiting for us sa car. Lizette Iha, we’ll see you soon, ok?? Take care.

Lizette nodded. Steven and his mom rode the car. He looked back and saw Lizette crying while looking at the car. He waved at her and she waved back, still crying.

She went up to her room, get the scrapbook she made. It has all the memories she had with Steven. She placed the flower in the scrapbook and wrote:

- hindi kita kakalimutan Lizette, Ikaw ang best friend ko, pag malaki na ko, tapos malaki ka na din, magpapakasal na tayo dba? – Kuya Steven

Since they were still young then, they never had a chance to communicate, they don’t have Facebook, or Skype. All they do when they’re infront of the computer is play online games. The only way for them to communicate is through phone. Or when his mom calls her mom. Years had passed. Lizette never knew what’s been happening in Steven’s life. He stopped calling her and she wondered why. She is now in her Junior year, she tried to search her Kuya Steven on FB but there are a lot of Steven Casino’s there. She don’t actually know how he looks like now. She is so disappointed. How can he contact him. His mom never calls her mom too. According to her mom, they started a new business again so maybe she’s very busy and finds no time to call her.

One day her mom told her the good news. Steven and their family are moving back from Canada. Their business there is already stable so it’s time for them to stay here in the Philippines again. She don’t know what to expect. Do he still know her? or will he still remember her?? Maybe he’s already married. Or maybe he forgot all about her. ah, whatever.
