CHAPTER 17- A REVELATION

Graduate na sina Liz at Steve sa college. Liz is now working at their family Business as an HR Manager Assistant. She need to start from scratch. Steve on the other hand will start reviewing for the board exam in two weeks. His dad asked him if he wanted to rent a condo near the review center, but he declined his dad’s offer. Habang hindi pa siya nag rereview, siya yung naghahatid at sumusundo kay Liz sa office niya sa Makati. Madalas kase gabi na din ito umuuwi kaya hindi siya nakakasabay sa dad niya. 

Steven’s family is having dinner. Kumpleto ang pamilya nila, may importante daw kaseng sasabihin si Mommy Anne sa kanila.

MA: Andrea called me this morning. She asked me kung ok lang na magstay siya dito saten…

S: WHAT?? no. (sagot agad ni Steven.)

MA: let me finish first okay? She’s 2 months pregnant. Heide (andrea’s mom) doesn’t know anything about her pregnancy, and plano niyang itago muna ito sa family niya for awhile. Sasabihin niya na lang daw sa parents niya if she’s ready to face her consequences. mAgagalit ang dad niya pag nalaman ito and baka daw pabalikin siya agad sa Canada. Wala siyang ibang kilala dito sa Manila except for us. Most of her relatives are based in other country, yung iba nasa province nila. 

S: Ma, hindi naten kelangan na kumupkop ng ibang tao sa bahay naten. Especially not Andrea. You know what she’d done to me.. to us. She almost ruin my relationship with Lizette.

MA: Steven, naawa lang naman ako sa kanya… 

DB: you mean, pumayag ka na?

MA: not yet, I told her I’ll ask your permission too. Hindi naman ako nagdedecide ng ako lang. pero if you’ll ask me, papayag ako, I know how complicated the first trimester is, esp for her first baby. 

S: MA, ako ayoko sa desisyon niyo, im sorry. 

DB: anak, hindi mo naman siya babantayan… dito lang siya titira for the meantime. We’ll help her para masabi niya agad sa mom and dad niya yung totoo.

S: But dad, pwede naman siyang magrent ng bahay. Or live with her friends.. not here. I told her she’s not welcome here anymore.

MA: iho, give her 2 months, please. 3 months na pinakamatagal. If hindi pa din niya nasasabi sa parents niya, ako na magsasabi sa kanila. You have my word on that.

S: I stand firmly on my decision ma, pa. hindi po ako papayag. Excuse me. (tumayo ito at lumabas ng bahay nila, kina lizette siya nagpunta.)

L: o anong ginagawa mo dito? (nagdidinner din sila liz nung dumating siya.)

DL: Steven anak, lika, join us for dinner. (hindi na siya tumanggi, hindi siya nakakain sa bahay nila)

MC: yaya mildred, palabas pa po ng plate dito for Steven please.

L: Yaya ako na po. (she served dinner to him.)

DL: Iho buti nagpunta ka dito. May problema ba? (they were now having their dessert)

S: wala naman po tito, namiss ko lang si Liz.

MC: eh halos araw araw magkasama kayo..

L: nambobola lang po to si Steven, dad..

(after dinner, they stayed at the lanai…)

L: anong problema ‘Bie?

S: wala naman, bakit?

L: you know what, you not very good in lying… Alam ko ma problema ka… come on tell me.

S: it’s Andrea.

L: What about her?

S: (he faced Lizette) She’s Pregnant. And she asked mom if its ok for us that she stays with us for awhile.
