George sat on the sofa and Rosie joined him. "You'll be strong soon won't you?" "I am strong. I'm working on really advanced things now." She smiled, but on the inside, she was angry. She wanted him to be weak so she could take him. So she kept it to herself.
Claire suddenly read her mind and knew what she was up to. She didn't say anything though. "So I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with us Claire. I'd like to get to know you." "Sure." George smiled at his cousin as he knew that she was trying for his sake.
Colin and Daisy entered the room. "Rosie!" they yelled at the same time. "Hi Colin. Hi Daisy." Claire asked, "how do you know them?" "I used to babysit them when John and Annie went out for work." "Oh." "I know. It's a shock knowing they were killed." "I know. It came as a shock to all of us. Including the kids." "Well Jonathan has taken them in." George told her, "Mike's going to father them." "That's so sweet of him." Mike then walked into the room.
"Jonathan has got enough on his mind and I think the kids would add pressure on him. So I thought I'd father them." "You really are sweet." "Thanks Rosie."
Rosie had stayed for dinner and saw Colin and Daisy in wolf form. "They're so cute. Can I have Colin?" Jonathan laughed, "sorry Rosie, but no. They're new home is here." "Aww. Oh well. Thanks for dinner, I really enjoyed it. I'd better go home." "See you tomorrow?" George curiously asked. "Sure. I'll meet you in the woods say... ten o'clock?" "I'll be there." "Great. See you there." He nodded as she left the house.
When everyone was in bed and asleep an hour later, George began to dream.
Within the dream...
He saw Alex. He was alive and well. "Alex?" "I'm here George." "Is it really you?" He smiled and nodded. "I miss you so much." "I miss you too." His mother then walked from behind him. "Hi." "George. It's great to see you." "It's all my fault." "Don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault." "Alex tried to help you, but it was too late and... my uncle killed him." She opened her arms and he went into them as his best friend also hugged him, telling him how he wished he could be with him in the real world.
Back in the real world, Mike entered the room with Jonathan. "I felt him stir Mike." "Me too. He seems fine. Let's stay for a few minutes to be certain." He nodded as they waited a few minutes and he stirred again. "Everything's fine. Mike and I are here." "Alex." "Should we wake Jack up?" "No Mike." They looked to George again as he suddenly woke up and opened his eyes. "Did I shout and wake you up?" "No. Mike and I heard you stirring in your sleep. Are you okay?" He nodded and smiled sadly.
"You don't seem fine to us." "I dreamed about Alex and his mum. Saying that everything wasn't my fault." Mike placed a reassuring hand on his left shoulder. "Of course it wasn't your fault. Come on. Try and get back to sleep." He nodded as he laid back down and pulled the cover over his shoulders as he closed his eyes to try and get back to sleep.
He eventually got back to sleep and Mike and Jonathan left him to go back to bed.
In the morning, George woke up to Daisy licking his face. "Hi Daisy." She jumped from side to side on the bed. "Calm down." She took four minutes to calm down as the both of them walked downstairs and into the kitchen. "Hi everyone," he told everyone as he entered the living room. "Hi," everyone said at the same time.
"Breakfast son?" "I'll get it dad. I'm having toast." "Drink?" "No thanks." He got his breakfast, sat at the table and ate his toast. Mike told him that they should go out after their breakfast for George's hard training.
They let George's father go with them and Claire as she insisted. As Claire and her uncle watched, Mike and George were in human form. "I'm trying this because we are strong." George nodded as Mike charged towards him and grabbed him. "George!" his mother yelled out. "I'm fine." "Jane, you should be in the house." "No. I'd like to see him train." "Don't be surprised if he gets hurt." "I trust Mike." She turned to her son and his protector and nodded to allow them to continue.
