“Thanks,” I reply. I finish my breakfast and climb to my feet. I start walking to transfiguration and I see Kierst and Luna.
“Hey Kierst, I didn’t offend you did I?” I ask her.
“No way, I’ve been called worse,” Kierst says.
“I’m sure you have. I don’t want to be late, catch you guys later,” I tell my friends. I walk the classroom quickly and rush inside. I glance at my watch and realize I’m late.“Thank you for joining us, Ms. Rain,” McGonagall says as I sit down.
“No prob, oh and you're welcome,” I say cheerily. She rolls her eyes and starts the lesson.
“Alright class, today we will be learning how to,” McGonagall says. She did say more than that but I zoned out and stopped listening. I was thinking about my cousins Shay and Lacey. Shay is Deena’s oldest daughter. Shay is brunette and blue-eyed; she’s twenty seven and has twins. Her twins are almost four years old now. She has a boy and a girl. She was young, but a good mother. Lacey was crazy and reckless at nineteen. Lacey and Shay are half sisters and are both Deena’s only children. Lacey is actually half vampire, due to her father. That’s what makes her so reckless. She’s very blood thirsty for a hybrid and she goes crazy when she’s thirsty. I sigh, thinking of my “sisters”.
“Rain are you paying attention?” McGonagall snaps.
“No,” I answer. She growls at me and gives me detention. Wow, my second detention in three days. I just say okay and Draco smirks next to me.
“It’s not funny,” I tell him quietly. McGonagall droned on and I zoned out. Before I knew it, class was over. I left and headed to D.A.D.A. Draco walked with me and I tried to keep my cool. We went to class together and headed to our table.
“Okay children, I’ll want you to work on your assignments,” Umbridge says.
“We are almost finished with ours,” Draco tells me. He reaches into his school bag and pulls out a folder of parchment. He hands me a long piece of parchment. I read it through, quickly. Draco had written our entire summary. I read through it twice and nod my head.
“You did well,” I tell him. He rolls his eyes.
“Okay so that means we have three feet,” I say.
“One more foot,” Draco says.
“Ha ha one more foot. That sounds funny” I say with a laugh. Draco looks at me.
“Sorry, please ignore my strange outbursts,” I say. Draco smirks again.
“So we need to organize this and add another foot of info,” I say. We work on organizing our report. I was lost trying to find out what we could add. I mostly just sat there biting the tip of my quill.
“At least we have all week to finish,” I say.
“Yeah, we only have eight minutes left of class,” Draco says. For the last eight minutes of class I just organized our first paragraph. I get up and we walk to herbology. I talk to him, trying to sound interesting. We walk out to the green room and sit on the wooden chairs. Professor Sprout goes into a lesson about healing plants. I drum my black painted finger nails on the wooden table. I actually pay attention, but that’s only because I don’t hate that class. Divination was a none event, even though we did get a lot of homework. I chat with Draco as we walk to C.M.C. I walk over to where Harry’s sitting and take the seat next to him. Hermione and Ron are sitting next to us.
At the end of the lesson we stay back and help Hagrid clean up. Potions class was as bad as usual, but apparently Draco was in a good mood. I was barely paying attention when I felt something brush my arm. I see Draco is handing me a slip of parchment. I quickly unfold it and read it. It just read hello. I roll my eyes and grin. We had a whole conversation on that little slip of parchment.
